Booked this but as all the other reviews says, there are actually no dorms. Luckily they emailed me first to say they've had 'flooding' in the dorms rooms but can give me another room but at more than double the price. No email was sent back to me and no refund of the deposit I had made. If you want a dorm I reccomend Go Sapa Hostel!!!
a little bit small hostel but it was deserved to highly recommend because of their hospitability
Apart from the female owner this was the worst customer service I have had in Vietnam. The young women working the front desk were never of any help. The male owner was rude and unhelpful. Sure they always give you a "free upgrade" but that is because they don't actually have any dorm rooms.
Room was clean and had a great bed warmer. Staff was kind of sparse, they were rarely at the desk. This was a concern when storing my bag the last day since they just store it out in the open with no one watching.
Was upgraded to a private room as the dorm was full. Which is nice even if i then wonder how reservations are handled .. The room was good.
Like everyone else, we were upgraded for free to a private room. Very nice, even included kettle and mugs. Clean. Only complaint is that we wanted to book another night but were given an ambiguous price, as they didn't seem to want us to stay another night but still pay the "dorm" prices. We said we would stay in the dorm and pay dorm prices and they said it wasn't possible. Maybe there isn't even a dorm?
Staff went out of their way to be friendly. The dorm room we booked had a "problem" and we were "upgraded" to a private room. But only had one bed when we needed two. So they put another mattress on the ground...not ideal. Room was very damp and sheets were always a bit wet. Hard to sleep like that. Storage locker lock was broken. Overall a good location and staff try hard but rooms not very good for sleeping.
Nice little hotel, good location. The guy at reception is always happy to help too!
We enjoyed our stay at Sapa Cozy Hotel, especially the super comfy beds and tea delivered to the room. We like pretty much everyone else were upgraded to a private room on arrival. It's a little away from the tourist centre, which I personally preferred and as its such a small town really doesn't make any difference.
Got upgraded to a private room shared with a friend of mine for the same price, as many people have noted. Good location and decent rooms for a cheap price. Note: Sapa cozy hotel 2 across the street is owned by the same person and if no one is at the reception in Sapa Cozy Hotel, just cross the street and they'll be able to help you.
The major problem with this hostel is that the rooms (at least the one we stayed at) was completely moldy and smelled awfully of mildew. The smell from the toilet was unbearable and there was visible mildew on the walls (yucky white hairy stuff pushing out from the walls). The bed was big and comfortable, and as everyone else on this page, we were also given a private room instead of dorm beds we had book. Breakfast across the road was good (3 dollars), but the staff slow and incompetent.
