Lifeless hostel, but OK if you want a cheap bed and no disturbances. Facilities could do with a bit of an update.

I stay at Seadragon every time I visit Brighton and it's always excellent. The staff are so friendly, nothing is too much trouble for them and they're really knowledgeable about things that are going on in the city. The location is also really good, right in the middle of town and opposite the beach. I would highly recommend this hostel to anyone looking for a relaxed friendly stay in Brighton.

The thing which stands out most for me - more than anything else - is the staff, who always seems to go over and above what is necessary. A clean, friendly and comfortable environment - somewhere I would definitely recommend.

Dirty bedroom, bathroom wasn't cleaned during our stay (a paper towel covered in blood was left next to the sink for 2 days - revolting!), bathroom door didn't lock! Dirty bedding from a guest who had already checked out was left in the dorm room for 2 days. Entire hostel smelt of dirty laundry, the kitchen was disgusting (dirty plates and utensils left on work surface, two huge bins of recycling left in kitchen, sink blocked with old food). Cheap but I won't return.

I found the building very old, dirty in particular at the entrance (both the reception and the side entrance, with urine smell and cigarettes on the floor).Reception never opened in time, and at my arrival I found the dormitory messy: all the supposed free bed seemed occupaied because there were old sheets still there, and staff from other girls around. The kitchen was clean but very old fashion, underground in a bad smelly and humid place. Breakfast was available, but not particular choise.

The staff was excellent, the room are big enough, but the hostel lacks of communal areas. I liked the independently run feeling.

We really enjoyed our stay! The room, bathroom and kitchen were very clean. People were really nice. Its not far away from beach as well as from the center. Perfect!

Hostel was sensible located for the beach, town & sights, was easily seen from the main road. Good for a help yourself breakfast, and helpful staff.

Great location, close to the main road and seafront. Very noisy beds and terrible matresses though! Staff is very friendly, but almost never there.

I didn't expect it to be the Ritz but I did expect it to be clean- the kitchen was disgusting and the bathrooms weren't much better. I found the staff to be impolite and lethargic (on the extremely rare occasions they were at reception). The check-in deadline of 6pm is highly inconvenient. It was difficult to use the common room area as every time I went there it was covered in litter and there was someone passed out on the beanbags! There was no safe storage for bigger bags. Very unimpressed!
