We stayed in the dorms. The staff was really great, but the location is a bit out of the way from the town. There are also cheap options in town.

Seakunga was a great place to start our vacation in Belize. The relaxed atmosphere and on-site bar facilitated meeting other guests. AJ and Virginie are outstanding hosts - accommodating whatever you're up for, from relaxing all day to adventures like snorkeling or jetskiing. They were great for recommending local businesses as well. Bikes are available for use for jaunts to Placencia, Seine Bight or beyond. A place for warm welcomes and good conversation, we will definitely return. Namaste!

First off, the owners were very kind and accommodating during our brief stay and are invested in creating a good hostel. That said, there is MUCH room for improvement. The dorms lack good ventilation, are damp and mildewy, and are home to an astounding number of ants. Also more expensive than any other hostel we stayed at in Belize. Totally isolated from Placencia, which may be attractive to some. There are no food options except theirs, which, while tolerable, is super overpriced. I'd skip it.

Overall we had a good experience with Seakunga, I especially liked how management answered all our questions by email before we arrived. The rooms were nice but the bedding and pillows need to be updated. The electricity and water were off a few times throughout our stay, these were quickly remedied. We started in the dorms but ended up upgrading to the 'ocean view' cabana and found that it was well worth the extra cost. There is no kitchen for guest use so we were forced to eat out for all meal
