perfect for stay in a hostel near Walnut Garden... a lot of tour information is available... perfect apple-pancake...
The hot deep bath warm rooms and excellent food made this a comfortable stay. Nothing was too much trouble for Sean and Lucy who picked me up up from the airport, gave excellent advice and took us dancing. Even during the Chinese New Year holiday. The wifi reception was great and the satellite reception had news and films in english. Not that I stayed the room for long. As the location is stunning and other guests were very sociable.
Sean's Guesthouse is simple but there is an interesting atmosphere. The big + in this lodge is that Sean an his lovly assistant are speaking English. That is not a matter of course in the province Yunnan. The communication with Sean via E-Mail worked at it's best. He organized our pick up form Hotel in Lijiang and after a hard hiking day in the gorge we were heartily receive in the guesthouse. The very best was the breakfast next day. We got fresh orange juice, coffee and a great apple pancake!!

Very nice place to stay after the trek of Tiger Leaping Gorge. The staff is kind and the food is delicious!
We loved Sean and Sean's Place. Very nice bathroom and bedroom. The bed was the best/softest we have ever had in China. The food was fresh and tasty with an extensive menu. No negatives.
We didn't go for money reason.. We phoned Sean personally to ask him how to arrive to his place from Qiaotou. He didn't give us any good informations about how to go and exit from the middle gorge by public transport. For information, taxis charge a flat 150 Yuan for 22 kms !!

Great view from our window. The stars were brilliant from the roof terrace. Sean was great to talk to. Banana bread was very nice. Seans was just a nice place to be at.
Staff were good checking in, but once that was through there were not much help. Ordering food you had to seek someone out to get you the menu and to take your order. We asked the staff to help us book a bus to Lijiang, which they said they'd do, then when the time came to leave, they said they hadn't booked the bus and that we'd have to figure out our own way to Lijiang. We were told there is no bus station in Qiaotou, so we ended paying for a private driver to get us to Lijiang. Not fun...
Sean's is great! Walk those extra 3km from Tina's and just stay there, for at least 2 nights - make it your base, and travel around. Sean and his daughter are great, terrace garden is great, food is good and info provided up to date. Will definatell return there one day! =)
