Seaside Cottages on Mai Khao beach is a perfect place for a honeymoon or a yoga tour. You feel completely relaxed living in a traditional bungalow on a deserted 16km long beach. People seeking for a more adventurous holiday and those who are used to comfort should better choose a different place to stay.

Clean, quiet, secluded, peaceful, everything you are looking for in a "tropical getaway". Staff is very chilled, Malcolm, the owner, was very nice and helpful (there was a jellyfish sting while we were there and the staff had all knowledge and medical supplies). Constant maintenance and kitchen staff on hand, restaurant is great and cheap--but patrons come from all nearby resorts for dinner, so get your tables early. Overall, an excellent find!

Fantastic location if you want an isolated quiet holiday however the staff and owner are not at all friendy or helpful which combined with the isolation makes it a difficult pace to stay.

The food and room were both excellent. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming too. The only down side is the proximity to those fancy resorts with the rude people. I would recommend this place to anyone that is traveling in this area of the world who appreciates a friendly and laid back atmosphere.

Malcom and his crew run a tight ship. Everything is clean, food is good. The 500 Bath huts are a little overpriced as there is nothing more than an old matress on the floor. The better option are the 600 Bath huts with deck chair on the veranda and newer matresses. Maybe the most remote beach on the island and a nice setting. Not included in the rating but dissapointing the next door hotels full with russians who come for eating at the cottage. I don't have to tell about their behaviour

The cottages are cute and right on a beach. The restaurant has good food. This is a great place to just hang out with the people that you came with. Also, the location is really far from Phuket town or any other places. If you want to do any tours this place is really not that easy. We ended up having to rent a motor scooter. If you stay at other locations (like Patong Beach) the tours will pick you up for free... not here.

Seaside Cottages = paradise. Beautiful beach, secluded, clean bathrooms, great food, cold beer and laid back. If you're looking for a place away from the touristy beaches and towns this is definitely your spot. Malcolm is a great owner/host and keeps the place spotless. The rest of the staff were always smiling and ready to help if needed. The location is about 45 minutes north of Phuket Town, but easy to reach on a moped with rentals available a short walk down the beach. Thank you Malcolm!

If you decide to go walking from the airport following the beach beware that the sight at the beach is very small and you may miss it. The hostel is totally unknown in the region so better ask for the Holiday Inn to get directions to there. The owner is always to busy and unfriendly and the stuff does not speak English so to get some tourist information in the hostel is impossible, this plus the fact that the hostel is in a remote area make getting around very difficult. Quiet and peaceful beach

Seaside Cottages is a good first step accommodation after arriving at Phuket Airport. It is however also surrounded by too many touristic establishments and apparently no turtles to be seen.

An excellent place to stay to unwind after a long flight. Very quiet and peacefull great staff and lovely food. The beach is amazing and almost deserted. Only downside was the distance from the main road so you do really need to arrive by taxi and leave by one. All of which can be arranged vial Mal the owner. No wifi on site but we wandered up to holiday inn. Hotel and used the wifi around the pool there. We stayed in the basic hut and on last night we stayed n the round houses. All fantastic

Seaside Cottages is very nice and quiet place. The bungalows are tiny but comfortable and clean. They're right on the 9km beach which was totally empty when we visited, though it was high season. It's a very good place for relax and rest. There's no pubs and restaurants around so if anyone expects parties, don't stay there. The place has it's own restaurant where tney serve good food - prices are around 100-200 baht per meal. I can reccommend the place to everyone.

If you are looking for total relaxation, a stunning beach, amazing food and to enjoy the real Phuket then this is the place for you. I have been here quite a few times now and I still love visiting. Malcolm and his wife Koy offer a true warm welcome.
