The best hostel in the world I've ever visited. We've lived in the very large, comfortable and clean room (3 beds) with private bathroom, not always you'll find such kind of room in a standard hotel. Personnel is very nice and responsive. Hi, John and Mehmet ;-) Nice, open-minded international people rounds, so you'll always be able to find a company for a great party. The only "contra" for me was a turkish breakfast not usual for europians, but for sure you can expect coffee at least. Alex.

Seriously the most fun I've ever has at a hostel. The staff is incredible, the hostel kitty is lovely and the coffee is free! But I really can't express how great the people are! They really made you feel like you were staying with friends. They do hostel dinners regularly, have waterpipes, and give great recommendations for things to do and eat. The basement dorm is nice, though a little damp and musty. The location can't be beat. We made tons of friends and had an amazing time.

This hostel was located right in Sultenhamet and had a great atmosphere. The staff are young locals who were very welcoming and friendly. They provided great service but not only that, they were real people. I consider them to now be my friends after spending only three nights there which may seem strange but it is true.

The staff are wonderful, helpful people. There is a laid-back atmosphere in the main room, which is both welcoming and convivial.

We stay feb2012, it's quite cold this year. The heating didn't work well in my room, and the shared bathroom has no heating either. So it's very cold at night and while Talking shower. But it's clean ! So I think it's okay...but I won't recommend to stay here in real cold winter time or hot summer (note only the fan in my room.)

I would definitely recommend the Second HOME Hostel it feels more like a home than a Hostel. I spent my first day there when I moved to Istanbul then i stayed longer than even i booked 1 night and it was the best thing I could do. I met so many great people there and I think you get good value for your money. The rooms are clean and bright, you got all the facilities you need and there is always something going on!

We had an awesome stay at thıs hostel. It's in a great location, inexpensive, very clean, the staff are the best, and the hostel cat Boncuk is a riot. We stayed here for 8 nights and enjoyed time spent in the common room talking with the staff and other guests and enjoying the free coffee and tea (& breakfast). The staff here are outstanding, even taking us out to some of their favourite nightlife spots and helping us out whenever they could. We'll miss Second Home and the friends we made here.

This was the second time I have stayed at this hostel. It is clean, staff are extremely friendly and helpful. It is less than a 5 minute walk to all the main tourist attractions in Sultanahmet and a lovely 20-30 minute walk to Taksim Square. The only thing I think the Hostel could improve on is there breakfast. It is very basic for what you are paying. If they offered more of a variety - eg. menemen/omlette/french toast it would be a hit!

What a great hostel! Very helpful and kind staff, perfect location for sightseeing in the old city district,They can arrange trips to other parts of the country. The shuttle is only 5 euros to the airport. I even left my luggage there while taking a 2 night trip to Cappadocia. It's minutes from the Blue Mosque and the Aya Sophia.

Place is well-situated, a short pleasant walk to Blue Mosque/Aya Sofia area and easy transportation to other main areas. Very friendly and helpful staff! Simple but tasty breakfast each morning, and also an adorable kitty that hangs around the main lounge area.

The hostel was well situated in the center of the old town with connection to the tram. Santa Sophia and the Blue moswue were in immediate vicinity as well as the ferries to the Asian side. Unfortunately the heating wasn't working sufficient but we used the Air-condition with heating function. The bathroom was clean, the was no noise from other rooms or the nieghbourhood. We can definitely recommend this hostel to others!
