Staff was so friendly and helpful! Will definitely recommend the hostel to others.
The location of this hostel is wonderful, not even a 5 minute walk from the subway. The place felt very relaxed and laid back. We were given free waffles in the morning for breakfast and the staff helped us decide what we should do for the day. Although our room was a little cramped it was perfect for sleeping and I would definitely go back again. They also had a nice large common area for meeting people. Only problem was there were no keys or security (although they did provide lockers).
Seoul Base Camp is an excellent place to stay when you're in Seoul. Although the place has a DIY feel to it you got everything you need. The location right in Hongdea is awesome for partying and access to plublic transportation is great so you reach all the sights easily. The best thing though is the atmopshere greated by the owners and stuff. Those guys/girls rock.
I changed 3 hostels while I was in Seoul and there is no doubt this was the best one!!! The setting is awesome, the furniture and the whole ambiance was unique. Plus, it was extremely close to the underground station. Highly recommended and would love to see more of them around the world.
Best hostel I have ever stayed in. Excellent atmosphere, good people. There's a real family vibe there.
The ceiling leaked, I woke up and found that my bed was wet cuz I was on the upper bed. However, this is one of a good hostel. Nice and helpful staff. It's close to the subway station.
Amazing hostel with the friendliest staff (the free waffles were a godsend in the morning)! Had a great time here during the Christmas and New Year's parties; it's a great place to hang out and meet people from all over.
Pretty weird location with a really cold bathroom that looks like it was built into the room in 1h. Everything looks like it is temporary and should be replaced by reald facilities later. No comparison with the extremely clean Korean hostels that I've seen so far.
This is a cool place. The 2 hosts are friendly, interested, easy going and accomodating in any requests. The day I arrived they offered me some brie cheese and bread they happened to be eating. Nice people. The place has a basic kind of style, but its cool in way and there is everything you need. Location next to subway and walking distance to Hongdae. Free breakfast of toast and jam and coffee is available all day, waffles in the morning
Had a great stay at this hostel! The staff is wonderful and both speak perfect English (no wonders considering one of the owner grew up in Canada). They were always friendly and helped with anything you might need help with, joined in on the fun and went out with us some of the days. Just a great place to stay!

Awesome place to stay! Cozy, nice atmosphere. Great location, friendly and helpful host. I really enjoyed this place. P.S. The rooftop is superb!
Jake was super friendly and helpful, wee appreciated the advice on where to eat around Hapjeong. Location wise you cannot get any better than Base Camp, right outside the exit of the metro and situated on the two metro lines that are most important to travellers. In regards the hostel itself, toilets are a little rundown, and there were no locks on the cubicles. Showers were amazing, and beds were comfortable. Thicker blankets needed though. All in all, a great place to stay!! Thanks Jake
Choosing Seoul Base Camp made my stay in Seoul. There is nothing more appealing to me than to stay in a cozy, safe, clean & centrally located place when travelling --and I'm glad to say, Seoul Base Camp had all of those to offer & more. On top of that, the founder Jake, gave me a warm welcome & was very helpful & informative. Not only that, everyone I met at Basecamp was super helpful and friendly; it was easy to make friends. Best of all, there's waffles in the morning--you can't beat that.

The location of this hostel is really fantastic especially with the cost being so low. The owner was kind enough to upgrade my room, so that was pretty nice! There are small lockers, but the main door is locked and everyone gets a key, so you don't really have to worry too much; I felt very secure. I live in South Korea and love weekend trips to Seoul, so I've stayed at many hostels. I think of good hostels as ones that I would stay in again- would I stay here again? Definitely. -Aaron
It was my first experience with a youth hostel and most certainly will not be my last. The staff were very helpful and relaxed. Great atmosphere. There was beer left over from a party, So we got some free beer. I met some awesome people and it was a great base to go and explore Seoul. Definitely can/will recommend people to stay here. Thankyou!
