During our stay a couple of our friends were violently mugged right outside the hostel. When our friends returned to the hostel, the night staff would not even help us by giving us the number for the police department, or showing us how to use the phone. We later found out that several violent robberies had occurred on the street in front of the hostel in the last few weeks. The hostel did not inform us about this. Otherwise the place is ok, but there are much better places to stay in the area!!

Owner Comment (Hide)
We feel very sorry that two of your friends were assaulted (this is not a robbery as they did not lose anything) by a group of motorists at 3 am. The night staff actually offered to call the owner as he did not have the phone number of the police department. He also suggested to call 999. However, your friend told him that he could sort out the matter himself. We are not sure where did you gather the information that several robberies happened along the same street. We have even checked with the two hotels opposite us and none of us have heard of similar cases in the past few weeks (or even past few months). Your friends were attacked by a group of motorists who are highly mobile. This could happen anywhere of Kuala Lumpur.

The staff here are excellent! Cole spent a lot of time explaining what we should see and how to use the free bus system which picks up right down the street. The metro is also very close by. I mostly liked the common room with the tv and board games. The showers are large and clean, breakfast is nice. I would definitely stay here again!
