Serenata is one of the best hostels I've ever stayed in. The hostel is located in the heart of Coimbra in a really beautiful refurbished building. The staff is very friendly and helpful and room and bathroom are clean. Thanks for the great time!

When you see it outside you can`t imagine how it`s inside. It has many charming common areas. Located in the historical part of Coimbra. Bedroom was compact but comfortable and organized, including a desk and stools. Excellent breakfast. The only problem is it has 3 floors and no lift. I stayed in the 3rd floor.

I loved my stay in Serenata. The best hostel I stayed. The little problem is that you have a lot of stairs to climb to the hostel. I recommend it.

Super staff, helpful and knowledgeable about the local area. The breakfast is excellent for hostel standards (including protein!!), beds are comfortable and the rooms are bright and clean. Good internet facilities and lots to see in the local area. Along with other Portugese hostels, Serenata has a high standard.

My initial plan was to stay only one night in Coimbra, however, I have fallen in love with this university-based town as well as Serenata Hostel~ So I decided to stay another night in the same hostel which was a Maternity Hospital in the past. It is located at the historical site of Coimbra and opposite to the Old Cathedral (Sé Velha). I enjoy the serene atmosphere around the hostel very much. The university buildings surround the Old Cathedral, therefore, it is very convenient to travel around~

The location and building are great, and the facilities are new, clean, and very very nice! The guest kitchen is a bit small and under-supplied, but the patios and computer room are fantastic. Staff were sometimes hard to find, I had to go traipsing around to ask about the internet. The hostel was absolutely dead when I was there - however, unfortunately, the bar next door was not - it was so loud I had a hard time falling asleep. Just a weird mix of great and not-so-great here.

Wonderful interiors!! Like if you lived in royal palace. Renovated antique ceilings and breathtaking mural paintings. Cant describe easily with words. Must see! If you dont spare every euro, go rather to serenata than some slightly cheaper alternative

Wonderful staff, excellent, abundant breakfast, beautiful historical building! Some noise due to a big group meeting in the Common Room one evening but otherwise everything was best quality possible.
