Amazingly stylish hostel, totally refurbished. Staff is very helpful, first put us in a twin room but when we asked for a double he found us an empty one. The only thing to note is the huge noise at night (we stayed Friday and Saturday) as the room looks onto probably the busiest square in Coimbra. On Friday a large student group, coming from a nearby pub, stopped under our window at 5:30am and started yelling, singing, etc.
The location was nice, right next to the old cathedral and other main sights. Staff was nice, they hosted a pubcrawl for the guests and came drinking with everyone to the pub down the street. Breakfast was really nice, there was a sandwich grill which was great. :P The room was better than you could hope for, a clean and new ensuite with AC.
Very nice and well maintained hostel. Rooms are well above hostel standard and the place is more like a hotel. The building is super nicely restaurated. It was probably one of the cleanest hostels I have ever been to. There is a bar in the hotel, but it closes around 9pm, so socializing is not encouraged.
Luxury hostel, the atmosphere is more hotel-like.
Beautiful building, perfect location, very friendly and helpful staff! I will definitely come back!
With the exception of only one bathroom, it's a great hostel with a very helpful owner and nice breakfast. The rooftop's the best! I would come back.
Really it was great, one of the It's great!!! It's one of the best hostels I ever been. Bathrooms are huge and clean, the terrace is so nice and common area too. My room was really big and had a view on the Cathedral and on the river and at sunset it was amazing. And all the hostel is an old palace renovated! The staff gave me some information about what was going on during the evening and I could met a lot of people also if I was travelling alone. I would recommend it to anybody!
Most luxurious hostel dorm rooms and bathrooms (!!) I've seen among hostels and many hotels. Good breakfast and perfect location with lovely balcony views and A/C. Many outlets too. The only drawback is that it's not the most sociable place for solo travellers, my dormmates were much older and kept to themselves, which is fine. But this place is great for couples and groups I think.
A gorgeous building in the centre of the old town - a bit of a hike to get up there but worth it for such a beautiful, clean and spacious place. Excellent value for money.
Coimbra seemed to be a bit too quiet to me during the student's vacation...
the best hostel in my life! If you go to Coimbra you have to stay here!
The hostel is located just beside the "Old Sé" church a little bit far from the train station but very close to the University of Coimbra. The staff was very helpful, the rooms were spacious and clean, beds were comfortable, pillows could be a little better. The highlight is definitely the breakfast, the best I've had in a hostel until now. I totally recommend stay with and and I'll definitely stay with them again in case I return to Coimbra.
The room was great, the location perfect, bathroom clean and nice. We met two people of the staff, one young boy, and another one a little bit older (unfortunately I do not know the names). The young guy was very friendly and nice, and he gave us a very good support. The other one, even if ready to answer to any question, looked always upset, giving us the impression we were bothering him. So my only suggestion: please, try to smile a little bit more :-)

Really pleasant place to stay, great staff and really good location. If you are luck during the week you can even go along with the staff to drink some beers on the night! Really good place for the price! Nice place to stay
One of the best hostels I've ever been to. The location is superb, next to the University and the main nightlife area. The rooms are big, the beds comfortable, with energy plugs and reading lights. The toilets are big as well, and very clean. Not recommended to whom want to sleep though, because there's a lot of people on the streets chatting and yelling all night. If this isn't a problem, Serenata is definitely a must.

one of the most beautiful, well managed, well cared for hostels I have ever seen. Loved it.
This was one of the most beautiful hostels I've ever stayed in, both inside and out with the AMAZING view of the old cathedral from our dorm room. The staff were super helpful, the breakfast delicious...it highly recommend this place, it ticks all the boxes...and one our hostel competition against about eight others on our trip!
a very nice hostel in an amazing building in the heart of the old city. Great beds and great shower !
Interesting, very nice, clean but did not meet lots of people there. However, the owner is very cool
