Was glad to get out of there. Couldn't find the place, not enough fans, understaffed, dirty sheets, no atmosphere, bugs.. Only benefits are it's cheap, and the wifi is good. Although it was so hot my phone overheated and shut off to keep from exploding. And there was a naked man living in my dorm. Haha

The building needs to be cleaned and maintained better. Better signage from the main road is a must, and it would be useful to have information available for visitors on what is in the local area. And fix the lockers. One plus point is that the wifi is good.

I had a really bad experience. It starts with the Locatio of the hotel - it is in the back alley of the street it is written on, with no visible signs leading to it. It was a nightmare for both me and the taxi driver who was helpless. This amde a 45 min taxi from teh airport to downtown bangkok into a 90 minute ordeal. The hotel is dirty - the bathrooms and showers are dirty and unpleasant looking. Very basicroom , did have a fan. The bed was quite hard and sheets ad towel felt dirty.

I had a good 2 night stay at the well-named Shadow Inn. It was nice to have a small, inexpensive private room to myself after staying in dorms or camping before. I was shown to my fan room, given a towel and a room key. Whilst I was there two people were working: one chap was more in-charge and the other was a helper. Because there was two of them sometimes the "in charge" man had little time for me but I understood. Overall, I had a good stay there :D

Shadow inn is 10 min by walk from railway station Hual Lamphong. Its also close chinatown and river taxi. Facilities for so cheap cost are realy cheap. Staff are realy helpful and they work almost all the time from 8 am to 12 pm. I recommend everyone who need acomodation near hual lamphong

After finally arriving at the back alley this hostel is on, we were told that there had been a problem with our booking and they had no room for us. We were meeting up with our friends who were already staying at the hostel, so we were very annoyed as it meant that we could no longer stay with them. To be fair the staff were quite helpful and found us another room in one of their friend's hostels for no extra charge, and they took us there on the bus - but the inconvenience of it was annoying

For the money, you couldn't ask for anything better - it's in a very convenient location (5 mins from main train station, underground and ferry stop) and the staff are really helpful. I'd recommend a private room, definitely worth the extra money, but the dorm is ok for a night. I'd definitely recommend this for backpackers who want to stay somewhere friendly but cheap. The nearby River View hotel has a great restaurant and internet, and it's easy to use their facilities while saving on the rent

Dorms are on the top floor and with no working windows, it gets unbareably hot. Also, the beds are as hard as a rock. The location was decent, though. Only a short ride on the river ferry to get to the main sights. However, the staff were less than helpful. I asked how to get to the ferry and they pointed towards the river and said, "there is the river." In reality, the ferry stop requires a ten minute walk and a few turns. Luckily I found another hotel with helpful staff that drew me a map.

This place is the cheapest place to stay in Bangkok. With that, know that the conditions are less than stellar. I would return if I wanted to explore Chinatown on the cheap, but the area only needs one or two days, maximum. Still, you can't beat 5 nights for less than 500 Baht.

It was very cheap. And it reflected that point. Not the cleanest place, but we have stayed in worse. We were there for one night and upon leaving in the morning the water didn't work. Would be OK for a place to crash after a day in the city but not much more.
