I had to cancel my reservation here. Besides being in a very sketchy part of town that\'s pretty removed from the downtown core, check-in closes at 5pm. I walked by at 5:30pm on a Saturday, and everything was locked up with no one in sight. So if you\'re getting in late, you\'ll need to find another place to stay, unless you don\'t mind sleeping with the heroin addicts on the street.

This is not a hostel. Absolutely the best deal in Vancouver for a low price. A modern hotel in a better neighborhood would be 3x the price!

Not recommended if you're worried about your safety. It's right next to the worst part of town (I got propositioned by a prostitute on my first night, but the other six were fine). If you don't walk along Hastings st I think it's fine. I enjoyed having a single room instead of a dorm, and I wasn't planning on staying out late, so it was fine for me. Easy to walk or get a bus into downtown. Oh, and they only take cash, which wasn't mentioned before I turned up. And they have wifi.
