I had mentioned and confirmed about my arrival at around 8 am. Though on arrival I was told that I can get my room only at around 1 pm. I lost a day of my trip. Also the area around the bund is bit notorious, having too many ppl luring you to Tea House to loot you up with your cash, credit cards etc. BE CAREFUL... they claim to be connected to mafia and claim nexus with local police.
Directions to the hotel were incomplete. They don't mention that their reception area is on the 12th floor. If i didn't speak Chinese this would be near impossible. I asked the reception area on the first floor, who was busy watching a movie on her ipad and couldn't be bothered, if i had the right building and she told me no. Incorrect. Also, there was a gross woman sprawled out sleeping on a couch in the lobby elevators with her shirt pulled half up and pants unbuttoned. How welcoming. :/
My friend and I reserved a "deluxe" room thinking it was different from the "studio." It was a studio room; all one room with the bed raised in loft style. We had wanted bedrom separate, but it worked out because it was spacious, clean and cleaned daily, had a nice bathroom, couch, and table by the window, and a really nice view of the river outside. (20th floor) Overall, glad we chose to stay there. Kitchen came with hot plate, pan, microwave, plates, bowls, cups, forks, chopsticks, and kettle.
