We had just one night, but it was enough to enjoy the nice service and beautiful place of the Hostel. Thanks to the team, especially the person who has waited for us till 1am after our delayed flight.
That's not really an hostel, it's more like a hotel with also a dorm, so no common area full of awesome backpackers the way we guys mean. The staff is kind but they don't speak English at all except for one. No keys at the rooms nor lockers, everything is based on trust. There's only one toilet per floor which unfortunately nobody cleaned during my all staying. Totally an ok place for the price but nothing more!
The rooms are beautiful and clean, the location is at the center of old-town of Shangri-la, which is nice. The problem was that the staff barly speaks english and there is no map of the city. On the other hand- they really tried and was very friendly, nice and kind- invited us for new years dinner with them :)
Hostel was hard to find because it was in an alley behind Turtle Hill. Got lost, but the owner was nice enough to go out and find us. He was really kind and the only person we found in Shangri-La who could speak some words of English. The hostel itself was great. We had a private room, which was excellent. Clean and comfortable with a heater inside. But I saw the dorm rooms and the shared bathrooms and I can't say I would stay there.
