Shangri-la swallow's nest is a traditional Tibetan home that has been renovated into a cozy, comfortable hostel while still retaining its colorful Tibetan feel.Our hostel has a spacious courtyard with plenty of flowers and glasses.
It has a superb setting in the Old City of Shangri-la, at 1 minutes walking distance from Si Fang Square (the most popular Square in Shangri-la, where you can admire every evening the Tibetan traditional dance performing) and at 5 minutes walking distance from the huge resplendent golden prayer wheel of Shangri-la.
All around the hotel on picturesque lanes and streets, you will surely find the pub, the restaurant, the coffee shop or the traditional Tibetan eating place to meet your taste.

Our first room was nice, we were put up in the double room ensuite because it was all they had left even though they booked us into a double w/o bathroom. However, the second room (the double without bathroom) was....small. It was pretty much an attic room that I couldn't stand up in without bending over, the blanket didn't cover the entire bed, and there was barely enough room for two people plus gear. Also...the bathroom gave off an unpleasant odour and shower was very far away. Cold walk.
