Really nice hostel located at the road leading to Petra. Even though we hadn?t had air-con (we were there in July) the room was just about the right temperature (there was a wall outside window which prevented sun from getting in). The owner was very friendly and helpful as he drove as for free to the entrance to Petra and arranged us a very cheap taxi to Wadi Rum. All in all very good hostel which we would recommend. Great stay at the Shara Mountains Hostel. The staff were willing to drive us to the entrance of Petra, as well as line up a very cheap taxi on our way out! Owner says he's working on getting air-conditioning put in sometime in the near future, although the nights cool down nicely for sleeping with an open window. If you choose a room on the view-side, the street can be kind of noisy below, so if you are a light sleeper, you may want to get a room on the back side. Great stay at the Shara Mountains Hostel. Shara Mountains is a great place to stay when visiting Petra. It\'s clean, the staff are very friendly and the back rooms are very quiet. The best restaurants and internet cafes are a 5 minute walk down the hill and it\'s about a 20 min. walk to the entrance of Petra and a little bit more coming back if you are up for it.Shara Mountains is a great place to stay when visiting Petra. The owner/manager is very friendly. Speaks very good English and is an all-around fun guy. Highly recommend this hostel. Very clean and rooms are large. However, rooms at the front (near the road) are very noisy. Suggested that you request a room towards the back. The owner/manager is very friendly.
