My bedding had the remainers of ash of it. So I choose a different bed. On the second night of my stay there was a group of 50 tin the hostel- two people from my hostel had to go to the rooms of he children and ask them to be quiet. There was noise until around 2am from the 50 school children. In the morning the breakfast area was basically converted into a school canteen. There was no available sapce for other guests. I have to pay 3 euros for a basic breakfast that I couldn't access.

Room was a little bit cold late in the night but apart from that it was perfect.

The staff were very friendly and welcoming and extremely knowledgable of Cork and the surrounding area. One of the best hostels I have stayed in! Thank you for a lovely weekend!

I didn't enjoy my stay at Sheilas as much as I was expecting to. I didn't like the layout of the hostel, it created many separate areas. There was little to no interaction between guests, people staying there were not interested in interacting among the others. The breakfast was not worth the cost and neither was paying for internet (There was a place around the corner that was cheaper for internet). The showers had cold water. The kitchen had the worst supply of utensils. Not recommending!

I really enjoyed the stay in the hostel. The staff was very friendly when we checked in, they were even willing to print out tickets to Blarney Castle that had been e-mailed to me. So thank you! The rooms were clean and tidy and so were the bathrooms, and the storage lockers were large and spacious. We really enjoyed our stay.

In the 6 bed dorm we were first we felt like in a gaol. The walls were like basement walls with lots of dirt on it and there were spiders everywere on the ceiling. It was pretty dark because there was only one tiny window at the ceiling. The heating didn't work at all and the air felt really wet and cold. But after complaining at the reception we got another room for one euro more and that one was pretty okay like a normal hostel room and with a working heating. So it was maybe just bad luck...

Great stay, receptionist was very helpful and friendly. Wish we had known that breakfast wasn't included- but we loved the half-price pizza! Getting up the hill was rough but otherwise it was a perfect location to get to the rest of Cork. Good price too.

First stay at a hostel and I was pleasantly surprised. The hostel felt safe and relatively clean. It was a little cold and drafty but other than that, no complaints.

To be honest, I expected more. It´s an average hostel, no breakfast included and the one offered, for me, was kinda expensive and there were not many bathrooms and showers. Getting there with luggage is really difficult since there are two uphill roads (I didnt imagine they were that uphill).

Sheilas is certainly one of the best places to stay in Cork. Very good value for money, location is perfect, hostel is very clean and tidy, and the facilities are fantastic. All that would be perfect but then the staff is just the cherry on top of the cake. I couldn't have asked for anything better than that. Will certainly recommend it to friends!!!

We had a lovely stay at Sheila's Hostel! We stayed in a private room at the back of the building which was warm and comfortable but could do with a bit of modernising as it was rather old fashioned and shabby, however still nice, clean and cosy. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The common room was very welcoming and homely, christmas tree was a lovely touch. Overall great value for money and pleasant stay....Thanks Sheila's!!!

A seat or table in the room would be handy.
