Stayed here before in a larger room and it was great. This time a tiny room with 6 beds with a window that didn't close and a bathroom right next door, very noisy. At a top of a hill, but would still stay here again.

The staff took my 1Euro from the luggage storage, before I kept my luggage, they said five euro is just a "DEPOSIT", but when I'm back for my luggage, they said it's one euro for two hours. Fine! they want my 1 EURO, and then I gave you!! What a ShXXX!!!

Had a very good experience

The hostel is located about a 5 min walk from the bus station and right across the river from some touristy shopping and lots of good food and pubs. It's up a hill so walking there is a little exhausting but it's a short walk so not so bad. I stayed in an 8 bed mixed dorm. The cleanliness of the place is fine. The bathroom situation threw me off though. There aren't very many toilets and there's a whole lot of showers. The staff is extremely helpful and nice. It was good for a couple days.

Amazing staff (super friendly and helpful) and conveniently located in the city! I stayed in a room with 3 bunk beds and it was very small which wasn't a an issue but it was poorly ventilated which made staying cool enough to sleep difficult. This was my first hostel experience so I don't have others to compare it to. Overall I would imagine its a bit better than average!

I stayed at Sheilas over a bank holiday weekend, so the hostel was completely booked. It's situated on top of a hill, so getting my luggage to the front door proved difficult. Understandably, the other travelers were loud & noisy late at night, & one threw up all over the bathroom. The light in the bathroom seemed to be motion-sensored, and would turn off when the occupant was in the shower. The window in the bedroom did not have a curtain over it, & breakfast seemed overpriced.

Huge hostel bus everything was clean. The breakfast for 3 euro was not really worth it for us because it was very basic and free lockers would be better. But the hostel was very well organized, we would stay there again

Shiela's was fine but not a stand-out. We stayed in a 6-bed dorm and could barely get into the room--the bunks were crammed into a tiny space--but it was nice to have the ensuite and a little privacy in the back half of the room. The push-button shower with about 10 seconds of water was fine once we got the hang of it, and we're all about saving water so that was a plus, but the water was freezing for the first 9 or so pushes and only heated up to lukewarm after that.

I thought the place was very cold. Even the showers were just barely warm enough to use. And the lights in the shower area have sensors so if nobody triggered them they would turn off on you while showering. That happened to me twice. I did botblike that there were no bins in the rooms to lock our stuff in.

Only stayed one night and got a clean warm bed and a shower here. Parking costs 2 Euro an hour during the day so be prepared if you're driving. Shower was a bit tricky, had to manhandle the button to keep the water running. Otherwise, no complaints.

It was a good stay with helpful staff. She mapped out some local spots that we should visit during our time there. We honestly were not at the hostel long, but our stay was pretty good for the money.

The bathrooms were not cleaned the entire time we were there!! They had a €3 continental breakfast we paid for one morning just to find all that there was available was 3 pieces of toast each and juice. No cereal or eggs or anything!

Sheila's was decent place overall. It's not too far from anything, though the hill is steep. The room I was in was tiny, so there wasn't much room for people's stuff if they didn't rent a locker (but, having your stuff downstairs in a locker rather than with you is a bit inconvenient). Bathrooms & showers didn't seem super clean and you had to push every 10 seconds for water. I don't mind just toast for breakfast but €3 for just that seems high. Staff was nice & helpful though :)

Staff was always very helpful and friendly. The room had poor temperature control. Good stay overall.

Though the staff was friendly, overall I found this place to be quite sketchy. I didn't feel that safe here despite their security measures. The room was cramped and didn't look like it had been cleaned that well. It was also up a huge hill away from the city. I would recommend finding something closer to the center of town if I were you. Or just not staying in Cork at all...

Nice and friendly hostel. The rooms are very small and there's no space to store your stuff, not even lights with the beds so everybody has to light the big one when they need. The common bathroom is small too (only two toilets and two showers) and the showers are not cleaned everyway that's sure. The living room, kitchen and front desk were very clean though, and the staff very helpful. Breakfast is not include but seems very good.
