I'm not Christian. It was slightly weird. Big dorm felt more like a...homeless shelter.

Very friendly and great staff.

Nice Place, happy and lively staff...though I was kept out for hours due to cleaning..breakfast too light for people who eat a lot like me. It was a nice experience all together though.

Very friendly and accommodating staff. Not too far from city centre and great facilities. Very clean and the food was great too. I'd recommend this to friends and would go back again if in Amsterdam.

never experienced this kind of messy hostel before, my locker was full of unknown dirty clothes, no wifi in the room; and the worst thing is no outlets inside the room which makes you have to get your devices charged in the reception. the only poor wifi is in the cafe where you can have a simple breakfast. but there are two girls in the cafe singing very well with playing guitar themsleves. staff is just ok.

I found this to be an oasis. The atmosphere is friendly, safe, life-enhancing. The staff was young and friendly.

Only letting you have one free hot drink at breakfast was a bit mean. The lighting in the 18 bed dorm was very dim. None of the snacks advertised for sale in the cafe were available.

Very recommended if you like to stay in a calm and safe place.

the place was in a good location, 20 min walk from Central Station. Food was ok, always had to ask for more. Staff where nice and friendly. Had lockers in each room for each person but I couldnt fit my pack in so had to keep it under the bottom bunk when I was on the top. Lack of power points for each room. One point for 6 bed dorm.

The hostel was easy to find (the directions in the eMail were very helpful) and the staff was really friendly and able to help me with all the questions I had.

bathing towels should be provided.

We were very satisfied by our stay at the Shelter Jordan. Everyone was very helpful and friendly, we met some really intresting people and had a lot of fun at the common room! the rooms and bathrooms were very clean and we had no complaint about anything. It isn't at the center of Amsterdam but it's ony a 10-15 minute walk, so its perfect. Also the food and coffee was really good and cheap. I fully recommend Shelter Jordan!

Nice and peaceful location near the city center

It was a great place! A tad small, but not uncomfortable! I stayed a night in a 6-bed dormitory and was very satisfied. Too bad there wasn't any available place for me to stay for the rest of my trip, so I had to move to another hostel. Loved that I had internet connection all the way to my room too! I do, however, feel that there should be a power point for each bed. It's slightly inconvenient to have to go down to the cafe to charge my phone. Other than that. great place!

You get what you pay for here. Large single sex dorm, bunk beds are extremely close together which means no privacy. A lot of snoring and smells (ear plugs and padlocks must be purchased). In saying that, this was the second time I have stayed at Shelter Jordan and I came back because it is cheap. The location in Jordaan is good, the area is classy with a lot of boutiques and giving a real feel for Amsterdam. Summary: place to sleep in good location - thats it.

I was really upset about the Shelter Jordan. Firstly, I booked two months before to avoid any problems that I could have. But when I arrived the staff said that I had to change the room EVERY DAY. The breakfast is poor. The hostel doesn't have a good security, you need to show a piece of paper in the front door. Doesn't have plugs in the room to charge the batteries, you need to give to the staffs to do that. The blankets was awful, really dirty with a lot of hair on it and the mattress stained

I was pleasantly surprise when I checked in.. In fact I already liked the place in the first 15 minutes. Really did not expect to see such a good enviroment. The place was clean and the free breakfast was always served hot and with good choices. Less than 2 minutes of walking distance from the bus stop and the tram station !

I liked that Shelter Jordaan had different floors for men and women. Personal was very polite and helpful. Breakfast was good, healthy and enough food. There was possibility for other meals too in the restaurant downstairs. Everything was clean and peaceful. The hostel has good connections to the airport and only four stops from the central station. The only problem was to suddenly move to another room without knowing it before, but I suppose that there was a good reason for that.
