The staff is very polite and helpfull, they organize different free activity (eg Dutch dinner, walking tour..). There is free breackfast too! The position is very peacefull, the only problem is that is a bit far away from the city centre (about 20 minutes on walk). But if I return to Amsterdam I'll stay there!

Nice friendly atmosphere and ethos, staff try hard but are mostly volunteers so knowledge and ability is very variable. The place needs some care and repairs to improve it mainly needs a really good clean as the cleanliness levels are awful. Rooms very dusty, bed clothes ok but blankets very dirty and unhygienic (needs a duvet system), showers had been cleaned but the amount of mould growing on the walls was unpleasant, breakfast dishes were cracked.. With a few changes it could much better.

I've been heer for the seconf time this year. I like the atmosphere in the hostel Shelter Jordan because all the staff are volunteers and they are always friendly and happy to help you. And you can also hang out with these cool guys and make friends) Rooms are clean and threy are lockers. The breakfast is excellent, you can have pancakes or eggs, musli or sandwuch, this is great. The location is also convenient, 10 minutes walking from the main square Dam. Thank you very much for the nice st

Overbilled for security deposit. Rooms and bathrooms were not particularly clean, though pretty average for a hostel. Otherwise, friendly staff and convienent location with nice on site cafe.
