They provide lots of opportunities to meet people. But facilities were not so good. Staffs are super-friendly.

Clean, friendly place. Staff is great. All volunteers. Some Christian messages on the walls and free bibles at the counter. Lockers in the room make a lot of noise and tend to wake everyone up. Beds are reasonably comfortable. Good option for staying at in Amsterdam.

Only big complaint about this hostel is the lack of plugs in the rooms. They do have a locked drawer at reception where you can leave stuff to charge, which is fine, but if you're like me and your phone is your alarm, it's not the best option. The location isn't super close to main attractions but it's well-connected by public transport, and we actually liked seeing a bit more of the city just walking around. Free breakfast was great! Staff was nice and helpful.

There was just one socket in the room for many people.

Serious lack of power sockets, but you can leave your stuff to charge at the reception. And maybe a bit more heating would be nice.

Excellent location, excellent staff, good breakfast, good rules (not smoking in the hostel), wifi is 8 out of 10. Really closet to the museums, center and 5 min walk to anne franks house. really recommend this hostel.!

The staff were very nice, the shining star being Jessica - very friendly and warm. The usual problems you get with Hostels, people coming in at all hours of the night, noise.. But in a quiet area, I didn't have any issues with: security, local area, nor any else associated with Amsterdam.

Nice atmosphere even though we are not religious. Dorm was really hot at night, keep the temperature average ! Breakfast was great. Not many showers, a rush in the morning. Receptionist is cute ! Thank you we had a good stay !

I had a great stay at Shelter Jordan. It is super clean and comfortable despite taking 8-bed dorm. The only small glitch is that the heating at the toilet is not effective because the windows are left open for ventilation. Although it's cold, I guess it's better to have ventilation than not in a shared toilet!

I didn't like the man cleaning the bathroom, they gotta leave it closed on the female floor or put up a sign CLEANING IN PROCESS, otherwise its creepy. They didn't have any mirrors in the rooms on the female floor- which is weird, since they had a sink in the room, no towels provided (only for a fee). Ok location, ok staff, nothing extraordinary, just decent, slightly hard to follow the instructions on finding the place.

I was pleasantly surprised by the breakfast. They prepare it freshly hen you arrive and you even have the choice between some muesli with fruit, and a warm breakfast, which varies every day. I stayed in a 4 female dorm - the bed was comfortable, every person had their own locker, and you could regulate the heat on your own!

Nice volunteer staff, and they are very helpful. However, I did not feel safe at this hostel. There are posted signs about pickpockets. Think this place is geared towards charity work for the homeless rather than a safe haven for travelers so keep that in mind. There is Christian music playing in the kitchen and dining area, and bibles on every table. Also, there is only one outlet per room in an awkward place so to charge your electronics, you must surrender them to the reception for charging.
