I LOVED staying at the Shelter Jordan! The staff was extremely helpful, knowledgeable of the surrounding area, and able to give us great advice on what to see & where to go! The facilities were fantastic, also. I stayed in the 16-person female dorm and experienced no trouble whatsoever. The cafe area is really nice - lots of seating, games, outlets for charging, free wifi throughout the hostel, and a complimentary HOT breakfast! It doesn't get much better than that. Definitely recommend this!!

Overall very good hostel. Stayed in an 18 person room which is a bit large for me, but didn't have any problems staying there. Good breakfast, has the usuals but also offers a special each day. Only problem I had was the lockers in the rooms could only fit small/skinny locks on them (I have a normal sized lock which has fit every other hostel I've stayed in besides this one). But didn't have any problems with anything being stolen so that was fine.

Jordan is an easy 20 mins walk from the station. I found the staff there really helpful and friendly. Although it's a Christian organisation (and I'm not Christian) you are totally free to do your own thing. They don't allow alcohol and pot which I thought was great as there are much better things to do in Amsterdam than get totalled.

This was a nice place, however the single power point in each room was quite frustrating, giving the six people staying in the room. Breakfast was free but quite basic and not self serve. All else was fine.

The location of this hostel is very good, really close to the city centre. The staff is very friendly and nice. The breakfast is good as well, they have few options you can choose from.

Shelter Jordan told me to use their bike service, which is Yellow Bike. I paid 10 euros to ride it for three hours. I arrived 45 minutes late because I got lost in the city. They took 8 additional euros out of my my 50 euro deposit....That means I technically paid 18 euros for a 3 hr, 45 min bike ride....when I could have paid 15 euros for an entire day. EXTREMELY disappointed by how rude and unhelpful the staff was. It completely ruined my entire experience and I will never stay there again.

I had a quiet, relaxing, enjoyable stay at Shelter Jordan. You don't need to be a Christian to stay here, but if you are one, here's a great place for you if you've been travelling awhile and are feeling a little "spiritually dry." The staff hosts regular Bible discussions as well as other events that appeal to all travellers, like walking tours of the city. It's located outside of the busyness and Red Light District, in a quieter area, but still walking distance to everything.
