Shelter Jordan is a no-drug and no-alcohol Christian hostel near Anne Frank House and the rest of central Amsterdam. Our guests say 'if you're not into partying, drugs or drinking, this is a great place for you' and have recommended this hostel for lone travellers as it offers a safe atmosphere and single-sex dorms on separate floors. Visitors say 'the people are friendly and the community area is open until late, so there is plenty of time to socialise with others'. We like that the hostel offers free breakfast as well as lunches and dinners for around €5.

Our Christian hostel offers great value for money, with bed, breakfast, sheets, lockers and free WIFI included in the price. Enjoy our clean and comfortable accommodation and friendly international atmosphere. All our staff speak English and the reception is open 24 hours to help you and answer all your questions.
We're located in the city centre, a 20 minute walk from Central Station and a 2 minute walk from the Schiphol airport bus stop. Most of the main tourist attractions are within walking distance and there is a tram and bus stop just 100 metres around the corner
Shelter Jordan has single-sex rooms with 4, 5, 6, 8 and 18 beds. The larger dorms are divided into smaller sections to provide the privacy you'd like. Compared with our sister hostel in Amsterdam, Shelter City, Shelter Jordan is smaller (98 beds), is cosy, and is located in a quieter part of the city centre.
Youll get so much more than just a good night's sleep at an affordable price. The hostel not only provides excellent facilities, but also has a warm and welcoming atmosphere. There is a large café where you get your free breakfast and can hang our during the day and evening. You can buy cheap meals or snacks here, or eat your own food. The hostel has a garden terrace and a great opportunities to relax and meet people from all over the world.
Our location in the quiet and picturesque Jordaan area makes it easy to explore Amsterdam. The hostel is close to the Anne Frank house, Leidse square and Dam square.

I'd say what makes us so different from the other hostels in Amsterdam is that there's no alcohol or drugs here, just a quiet and friendly atmosphere in the beautiful Jordaan area of the city. We also have a ton of extras, such as our free hot breakfast, free walking tours, free Bible discussion groups, free weekly movie nights and special events at Christmas, Easter and Thanksgiving.

Anne Frank House is only 500m from here and Dam Square, Leidseplein and the Rijksmuseum are also within walking distance. Personally I recommend checking out the 'hofjes' (hidden courtyards) around the Jordaan area.

This hostel blew my mind. It was so clean, so fancy, and so warm and inviting. The staff were also so friendly and helpful as we tried to figure out what things we should sight see and do. They also have great deals such as free breakfast, lunch for € 3.45 and dinner + desert for €5 (and it is really great food too). You can also stay up to a month with free room and board if you help out with cleaning which is a great way to stay in holland longer without breaking a backpackers bank!

Things to Note
Check-in from 08:00, bedrooms available from 13:30, check out before 10:00. Bags can be stored for free on arrival and departure days. This is a no-smoking, no-drugs and no-alcohol hostel; normal cigarettes can be smoked in our garden. There is no curfew or lockout; reception is open 24 hours. We have a 48hr cancellation policy. If you want to cancel your reservation, email or phone us before midnight (Amsterdam time) two days before your arrival date. Late cancellations and no-shows will be charged the equivalent of the first night's accommodation. These conditions also apply if the date of arrival has been changed by phone or email. There is an extra charge of 5 euro per bed if you make a group booking for just one night and it's a Friday, Saturday, or 30, 31 December 2012; 1, 2, 3 January; 28, 31 March; 29, 30 April; 9, 19 May; 31 October; 29, 30, 31 December 2013. If you have booked the four- or six-person room for two or more people, we can't guarantee you'll be put in the same room but we will try our best – send us an e-mail if it’s really important to you. Our rooms are separate for men and women – there are no mixed rooms; if you book the wrong room we can't guarantee your accommodation. There are free lockers. Please bring your own padlock or buy one at reception. There is a 15 euro key deposit for the four-to-eight-person rooms. Animals are not permitted. We accept bookings of up to 20 people on Hostelworld.
