Staff were rather cold and unhelpful. We were just pointed in the direction of our room and every question we asked them was just answered with a grunt which made us just feel like a burden. The location wasn't too bad, about a 15 minute walk from the subway station. The hostel didn't seem to have any character whatsoever (just like the city); The communal area was like a morgue. No lift access in the building. Room was nice enough with comfy beds but lockers were in the hallway. Not the best.

Clean, helpful hostel. Easy transport links. Seems average price for Shenzhen but expensive compared to the rest of China.

The only problem was our room sit right next to the public bathroom and some travelers were totally inconsiderate by banging the doors like 10 times in midnight. Well it's not the fault of the hostel or staff, but I doubt if there's anything they can do like slipping some sponge alike stuff on the door frame to reduce the noise.

A really nice place to stay while in Shenzhen. Rooms and common area were clean, staff was friendy and helpful and it was a good value especially considering how expensive accommodation is in nearby Hong Kong. Location is quite far from downtown but in a neighborhood with restaurants and bars. Overall a great place and I would definitely stay there again.

Really nice area with cafes and bars nearby (if you like to go to the shopping district, it's a bit far off). Staff is able to speak English, but it seems they went to the Keanu Reeves school of (missing) facial expression. Ensure to have enough cash with you as they charge a deposit for everything!

Really nice area, and in my opinion not that hard to find! Great location with all the restaurants & bars nearby and it's simple to take the subway if you want to go to the centre. Very calm atmosphere.

No internet in my room, I think this means all the dorms. Other than that no complaints. Very clean, cheap food nearby, comfy sofas in the common room (albeit too few), superb surroundings and close to the metro. But staying in the waiting room of China you will at some point have to ask yourself the big question: What am I doing in Shenzhen?

Kind of hard to find and when I called the hostel the girl said that it was behind a supermarket and to ask people on the street. Area is really nice and quiet and walkable distance from splendid china and window of the world (a little farther), and also the metro (about 10 min walk). Room was neat, but tile in front of sink was mildewing. Lots of mosquitoes in area, so don't sleep with windows open!

The perfect place to unwind from any stressful journey or previous place of stay. The staff are friendly, helpful, proficient in English and able to deal with any questions you may have. Whether on holiday, on business, or just passing through, Shenzhen LOFT caters to all your needs within a relaxed & inviting setting. Trees, art galleries, numerous places to find good food and within walking distance from all main forms of transport, trust me, you will not be disappointed.

The place was okay but a bit boring. Like other YH International hostels it's difficult to meet people here and you get the feeling the place was decorated with large groups of 16 year olds in mind (witness the rarely used airhockey table). The park this hostel is located in struck me as way too artificial at first (I'm European) but it's actually really nice.

Hey you gripers, e'nuff already! Really good hostel, located in a middle class suburb far away from the train station ghetto. Bathrooms are 4 star clean with soap gratis. Only 3 beds in a dorm! 'Fun' factor - lounge is cosy with soft music, beer is available but no loud-mouth types. As for perceived surliness of staff - they are just being efficient and business-like: eg. no outside guests in dorms, no long-winded reviews of Lonely Planet... (others need to check-in!) Whats wrong with that?
