My overall thought is about the shiado is good. The sleeping is good as well as the breakfast included in the price. Very good location very close to all facilities. The only poor point is the shower place which is a very "student" place, with no much intimacy.

I would generally recommend it-very goood location, helpful staff; the place was ok despite very high humidity (maybe that's just spring in Lisbon?0 But there are a lot of rules on almost everything (from the amount of butter for breakfast to the way of taking a shower) which I found a little bit strange in a supposedly laid back place where people come for holiday.

I had such a wonderful time staying at Shiado that I didn't want to leave! Everything about my stay there was top notch. Overall, I received an excellent value for money paid, and the atmosphere and staff were fabulous. Shiado is a very comfy, relaxed place with an superb kitchen I might add! I loved everything about my stay there and would recommend it to anyone passing through Lisbon! xox Mary

Truly it was one of the best hostels I've ever been. The location is excellent, 2 min to the main square, 2 min to Bairo Alto. The room, toilet and bathroom were clean. Stuff was very nice and affable (special thanks to Victor and Pablo). Every day there was good served breakfast. There was some misunderstanding with the shower, I can't recognized how to regulate hot and cold water. But generously it wasn't so big problem. Hope I'll come back and stay there again. Thanks.

The location is excellent. They have coffee, corn flakes and milk for free. The problem was the bathroom that wasn't so lean and in the room I didn't have to the warmer.

Hello, thank you for your stay and review. I just would like to make clear that in your room (and in all of our rooms) there is heating, and it's clearly visible... as Lisbon has a really mild climate even during the winter, most people don't use it, but if you were cold you could have spoken to the hostel staff who would have given you the remote control to turn it on. Cheers and have a nice new year!

This hostel is in a great location, very accessible to transit and near Bairro Alto. The free breakfast was quite large and very appreciated. The rooms were large and the bunks were comfortable. I didn't have to worry about hitting my head on the top bunk every time I rolled over! Very good hostel.

I stayed at Shiado hostel in winter time.Location outstanding! In the heart of the city, only a few mtrs from the metro station. No bar in the hostel. I wasn't satisfied for choosing Shiado hostel, b/c of the poor cleaning of the toilettes. Usually, in the morning toilets are cleaned.Didn't happen the last day of my stay, and there were stuff into both toilettes for hours! Also, I didn't like breakfast.Have stayed in cheaper hostels in central Lisbon that I enjoyed more!

Thank you for your kind words about our location, which is indeed one of the best ones you could stay in Lisbon. You wrote "No bar in the hostel": true, we don't have one; if we had we would have written it among our services... Maybe you didn't read our description with much attention. Breakfast and cleanliness are among the positive aspects that several travelers have mentioned before in their reviews about us: sorry you didn't like them. You paid 13€ per night with included breakfast, free internet a great location in the heart of Chiado area. Our breakfast includes milk, several types of tea, cheese, butter, jam, fresh bread, 2 types of cereals, fruit, orange juice and some portuguese baked cookies. I'm sorry but we really can't see where you could pay less at these conditions.

Loved the atmosphere and value for money. Stuff very helpful! Please don't ask anyone again for a 100% rating. Just don't. Let the people decide on their own. You will get very close to a hundred anyways and no one care if it's a 93percent or a 94. Just be yourself and everything is fine. We had a very nice stay with you. Phil
