NO NO NO and NO We just stay there one night. Just for plane transfert The man who take us at the airport don't say a word during the little time in the car. We try to speak but nothing, no smile, no communication. Just to have his money, know, and if you haven't got enought you go know at the Cash dispenser. At 11h PM??? GO!!! The room is... We don't look at the room we sleep a couple of hour and we dont take the breakfast there because nobody's here !

I stayed at Shoestrings Airport lodge for one night because I was getting in to Joburg in the afternoon and had an early morning departure. They have free airport pickup - you have to call them from the airport and they will come get you. Based on prior reviews I was expecting somewhat of a dingy place but our room was very clean and comfortable. We stayed in an en suite room with a very large bathroom. Dinner at the Protea hotel was easy - or for a fee you can be dropped/picked up at the mall.

We were very upset by how we were treated by one of the staff concerning the "free" airport shuttle. However we were happy that the other staff sorted out the problem in the morning.

The pictures in the site is outdated. The hostel is a very simple old house with a familiar atmosphere. The hostel manager is very very helpful and he will pick you up at the airport once you call him. The location is excellent if you need a place near the airport. They could improve the hostel maintenance and cleaning.

Best value for money. Rob, owner, is a great guys drops you off and picks you from the airport or gautrain station if needed anytime of the night! Definitely went extra miles during my short stay and made me feel at ease in no time. Obviously, do not expect 5 start hotel from a backpacker's money. But for its cost and the value that it delivered, best in the class.

We stayed only one night in transit to Cape Town. Transport to/from airport was main reason for selecting this particular establishment. Is not a long term accomodation but is ideal for coming and going.

Ideal overnight stop when you get to Johannesburg late and have to leave early the following morning. Located close to OR Tambo Intl. Airport and they pick you up and drop you off whenever's best for you. Absolutely amazing! Seriously. And we booked a twin room with a shared bathroom and ended up having a family room incl its own bathroom :-D They will definitely take good care of you!

The hostel has a good location if you´re looking for something close to airport. The breakfast was ok, but the rooms had too many mosquitoes, hard to sleep. A mosquitoe net would have come in handy.
