Excellent japanese breakfast with friendly and helpful staff. Check-in time could be earlier but you can leave your bags at the counter.

About Shunkoso
Shunko-so is a traditional Japanese inn with affordable rates. We speak some English and help make your trip in Hakone most enjoyable. We have hosted many guests from all over the world.There are 23 traditional Japanese-style rooms, all of which have private toilets and private hot spring baths. (ensuite) About 12 minutes on foot from Hakone Yumoto Station.
Shared indoor and outdoor hot spring baths (men / women separated) are available. The women's hot spring bath is made of stone, and the men's hot spring bath has a view of the Hakone mountains.
Check in is from 15:00-18:00 and checkout is until 10:00.
Payment: Cash Only. Sorry, we do not accept credit cards. Bathing tax 150yen per person charged separately.
Meals are Japanese-style and they are served in your guest room. There is also a Japanese-style tea room. Free car parking is available (up to 25 cars). Our building is a little old but it is unique and you can feel the nostalgic atomosphere of an old Japanese lifestyle while your stay with us. A lot of foreign guests are taking photos of the outside view of our building!
Important Note: If you are arriving to Narita Airport and coming to Hakone on the same day, please be aware that it takes a long time to go through customs at Narita Int'l Airport and then travel to Hakone. If your plane lands in the early morning at Narita Int'l Airport, you arrive at our ryokan in time for dinner. However, if your plane arrives after 10:00am you will NOT be able to make it in time for dinner. We suggest that you spend one night in Tokyo and then come to Hakone the next day.
