Charming inn that has character. Much bigger than it looks from outside. Ran by mostly male staff.

Slightly run-down. Rooms very good size and spacious, though the sleeping futons are too thin for westerners (extra futons and pillows in the wardrobes, so i suggest you layer-up). Water in hot spring baths fluctuated in temperature from day to day, never very hot, water in room taps was luke-warm. Most of the staff helpful, except the main desk manager who avoided helping us (but happy to help japanese guests). Japanese breakfast is great. Rats/birds scurry in the roofspace at night.

Staff was really nice and friendly and could speak English. Breakfast was great, they had traditional Japanese and Western breakfast. Really good for the money!

Possibly the best hotel I have ever stayed in; perfect for anyone looking for traditional Japanese accomodation.

I was disappointed that check in time was 3pm and check out time was at 10am.

Nice place. A little more expensive than some of the other places we booked but it was worth it. Nice onsen right in the hotel.

It's a maze at the hostel, but the map really helps! And the signboard they put at the door to welcome us is really nice:)
