Interesting interior design with spacious room and entry way. Though fairly far from the centre, it s still in a walking distance to town. Anyway, shared bathroom for all dorm is not enough during rush hour.
Stayed for 2 nights - free breakfast was good (apart from pancakes), film room was good, stayed in 8 person dorm, fan and ac at night so not too hot, large lockers, good showers but only 2 toilets for all the dorms but we never had a problem. Sorted our bus and visas to Vietnam but worth haggling for as we got about 70,000 kip off the bus after finding it cheaper elsewhere! Staff very helpful and friendly.
Our double room with ensuite was spotless. Location very central. Great room covered with foam mats for watching movies or crashing out after arriving on an overnight bus in the early hours of the morning (& no rooms vacated & available yet). Breakfast good & cheap. Bus trip prices a bit high.
Although I only stayed here one night (I was passing through on my way to Cambodia) but really enjoyed my stay here! Yes there are better hostels out there, but compared to most of the places I stayed in Laos, this place was heaven. Comfortable, clean rooms, free breakfast, and lots of common space. For $7 a night, it's definitely worth the money.
Really hot showers! Helpful staff, we ended up having to stay an extra night because our friend got sick and the lady on the front desk was really helpful in sorting it out for us.
Amazing hostel!! Great place downstairs to sit and chill and meet new people. Happy hour is great. Dorm rooms are clean and have huge lockers under the bed. Free breakfast is a bonus. Only improvement is the A/C in the dorm rooms. It was incredibly hot and no matter what we did to the A/C, we couldn't get it to cool down.
Pretty decent hostel, especially for the price. Reception were quite helpful in arranging visas. Only complaints are spotty wifi on my floor and the bed was awfully hard. That and the top floor has about 40 beds and only two toilets which frankly isn't enough.
A little bit out of centre, but WiFi is really good (for Lao) and staff is helpful
Everything was good, except there was not enough bathrooms to cater for 3 floors of people. Also there was no soap and the bathrooms were dirty frequently. The owner was very nice but his local Laos Manager was a bit rude. Apart from that a great stay. Loved the breakfast.
Sihome was a good hostel to stay at. Definitely make sure you stay at Sihome Backpackers Hostel and not the garden hostel. Better accommodations. The atmosphere at Sihome is great for meeting people and hanging out. The only downside is there is only 3 showers and 2 toilets for the whole hostel. Not enough for how many people are staying there. Others than that, great stay and close to Rays Grill! Best philly cheese steak sandwich!
The location of the hostel was a 5-10 minute walk from the main area of town. The dorms were fine, but the lock was broken on my locker and so was not very secure, plus no locks on the dorm room doors. The bathrooms and showers would definitely have benefited from being cleaned more often. Overall the hostel was decent considering the price, but cleaner bathrooms would definitely have improved the experience.
To much money for an average experience. People make a lot noise and it disturb who is sleeping, staff don't care about this. If their are busy, it's hard to receive breakfast. Few staff serving. Internet was bad, like anywhere else. Location is good. As other places, they ask you to stay without shoes, but at the end of the day your feet are black, because the floor isn't clean enough.
Quite a nice little hostel. Staff was friendly and it had a great party atmosphere. Fairly close to bars, restaurants and tourist spots in the city. Nothing bad to say here.
Super hostel with incredible staff. Great location in a lovely city. Dorms are clean with great beds, charging points, reading light and lockers. Toilets could be cleaned every few hours and soft drinks/ water were a little too expensive. The staff here add to a great atmosphere Where you will meet great people. Tip- treat yourself to a burger in rays grille up the road. I would stay here again.
The hostel itself it very good. However, a male guest and a female guest had too much FUN in the shower room from 3am to 4am, and then moved on to lay in the same bed in the 8-bed dorm and continue to have FUN after 4am. VERY loud. The hostel should stop selling alcohol after midnight.
After travelling throught Laos and Cambodia for over 2 weeks, the staff here were the freindliest we met. They were always happy to help and they made our stay here exceedingly comfortable. They arranged all our travel tickets throughout Laos and helped make our entire holiday so much easier, even though we only stayed here for 1 night. A remarkable group of people. I would definietly stay here again!!

It was all fine. Free breakfast was good but small. Place was pretty clean. Lockers in the dorm rooms but have to bring your own lock. Each bed had its own light and outlet.
