Found the hostel quite a strange one. It was definitely clean and very modern but the kitchen and bathroom are in the dorm so you have nowhere to go but your room. So there was just no character to the place. Also seemed a little unfinished, wires dangling everywhere. The directions they provide for the hostel are poor, they send you on the wrong bus for starters. Ended up very lost as a result!Found the hostel quite a strange one. The owner was rude and obnoxious, he treated us like dirt because we were staying in the cheapest rooms. The lift from the train station is only if it suits him, we called for a half hour before finally getting a bus and walking 15 minutes. Good new building and facilities but pretty far from the centre if it's your first time in Ljubljana.
Girl was great but the guy that works there is unhelpful and unpleasant - refuses to do station pick up/ drop off though it's advertised on their page and not there when you need him.. he disapeared at check out time!Good new building and facilities but pretty far from the centre if it's your first time in Ljubljana.

Perfect location, very nice and clean.
We have some small incident with front enter door, but anyway...if i ever go again in Lijbjana will stay at the same hostel.

supermarket across the street, new IKEA funitures, new building, one kitchen for just 2 rooms, but lots of unfuinished work in the house like sticking out lights. Location is horrible:5 mins of bus from train staion and then you have to walk 800 meters, which is a nightmare for big luggages. The host isn't friendly and always there. When we arrived at 4pm only 2 non-eng speaking cleaning lady was there. I actually stayed at the sister hostel (H2ostel), after booking at Simbol, as they said there were spare beds, and its right in the city centre. It was a great hostel, the staff were inredibly friendly, even picking me up from the station at midnight after the reception closed at 11! Matej is great - he'll pick you up at the train/bus station and give you a ride whenever he can. Location is fine, bus station is one block away and for 1 euro will take you to the city center and near the bus/train station; otherwise it is an easy 15 minute walk from the city center/river/restaurants. Supermarket right across the street. Nice patio to sit out and have a beer. I was really happy with Simbol hostel. A 15 minute walk from the old town but it was fine. The staff were really friendly and helpful and the hostel is very new, clean and modern. Okay, we arrived a little bit late (some problems on the road) but the owner of Simbol Hotel didn't even bother to call us to tell us he had to cancel our reservation and book in another hotel. So when we arrived, we were driven by a drunk and mad driver to another hotel, which seemed a little bit better. The actual Simbol hotel is well located (on the periphery of Ljublana) but there were a lot of people making noise and drinking alcohol at the entrance. owner was nice and very helpful, but i must say he forgot to extend our stay when requested and we had to sleep in a room with some pretty disgusting people. overall a very good experience. the location was a little out of the main square but there were bikes available and it was a beautiful ride in to town. great new facilities. definitely worth staying here.owner was nice and very helpful, but i must say he forgot to extend our stay when requested and we had to sleep in a room with some pretty disgusting people. overall a very good experience. the location was a little out of the main square but there were bikes available and it was a beautiful ride in to town. great new facilities. definitely worth staying here....Close
