Sim's Cozy Garden is a great place to stay in Chengdu. We were only here one night so not sure how accessible sights in the city are as we did not visit them but it was perfect for what we needed. The staff go above and beyond to make things great for you! The food selection and quality is excellent and the rooms spacious and nice. It was raining while we were there but the gardens looked beautiful! The internet was not properly working but we managed to get access late in the evening!

Loved the animals especially the kittens. Dougie on reception was great and Liu Liu our tour guide was great to. It was often hard to communicate with the staff on the travel desk though. DVD collection is fantastic. Food is pretty good and rooms and beds are a great size and comfortable. The public shower however wasn't clean and like the public toilets are very cramped and there are cockroaches in the bar tables. Otherwise this is a really great hostel and I would defiantly visit again

Holes in the bedding and staff often sleeping in the DVD lounge. Food was good. Some of the shower doors and bathroom doors no longer have locks for the shared bathrooms. Most staff friendly and the facilities are great. I would advise staying here but I don't think it is as good as it used to be!

Fantastic hostel. Location not central, but regular buses go from nearby, or it's about a 20 minute walk into the centre. Food in the bar was fantastic - recommend the Gungpao Chicken! Staff very very helpful and went out of their way to make sure everything was cool. In house trip to the Panda sancturary was fantastic too.

Staff are amazing, very helpful and informative. Location is very convenient. Loved learning about how Sim's came to be and the story of Sim and Maki! Dorm rooms could perhaps use better curtains, especially in the shared bathroom...that way there's more a feeling of privacy. Left all other suggestions/thoughts on their guest book recommendations/notebook.

Sims is by far the best hostel I've been to on my travels. The only issue is it has made all hostels we have stayed at since pale in comparison. Great atmosphere, great facilities and amazingly friendly and helpful staff. Great place to have a beer or two and meet some other travellers. Frank the Panda guy is a total f$ckhead though.

This was possibly the best hostel we have stayed in so far. It had such great staff and they were really helpful. We booked a twin room and were amazed by the great shower in our ensuite bathroom. I would reccommend this hostel to everyone that will listen to me, it was brilliant, thank you.

We stayed in Sims for three nights on the first week of may 2012. Nice hostel. The room and barhroom are clean. Hot water running in high pressure even in 4th floor , free wifi, the staff are friendly, very helpful amd speak english fluently. The only problem is the room in the front is little bit noisy although double windows already installed. Booking process is very easy and the staff respond promptly to our queries via email. We will stay again in this hostel

Good hostel, with exceptionally good travel desk. Very helpful staff, free hot and cold drinking water, shared showers available to use in the evening if you are catching a night train and reasonable western food. Stayed in a twin room which was quite well set up. A shows curtain, OMG!! I hadn't seen one for weeks , that rocked my world for a night. Bathrooms/floors getting a bit grubby under new ownership?

Owner Comment (Show)
Dear guest, Thanks for your feedback. We are sorry for the grubby stuff in the bathroom. We've been arranging someone to clean those away. Next time when you come back, it will be a new look! :) Have a great trip and see u next time!:)

I found a hole on the pillow case. The place is not that convenient.

Had a brilliant stay at the Sims Cozy hostel. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean. The bar and outdoor areas were a great place to relax and meet other travelers after a day of sightseeing. The hostel is a little out of the way of the city centre but fortunately Chengdu is a reasonably small city so getting taxis is pretty cheap. Will definitely come back and stay again!

A great hostel, dorms were comfortable, curtains for around beds was ingenious! Although it didn't feel the cleanest there was such a fun, easygoing vibe it didn't matter! The rooftop terrace bar is a great place to meet people... It would e challenging to not end up chatting fellow travellers! Travel desk is great for organising train tickets and visits to the great Buddha and the pandas! Defo recommend
