Absolutely nice ! Very good atmosphere ! Staff is really helpful and warm. They propose a lot of activities in Chengdu and in other places (Sichuan Opera, Pandas center, travels to Tibet, Jiuzaigu…) Lounge for eating and drinking very nice with Tibet traditional style. Books and DVD available. There is a game room with ping pong and billiards (pools). Very easy to make new friends in lounge and game room. There are no luggage lockers in the rooms, it is a pity! It is not in town center but it is not a pro

Fantastic! I didn't necessarily think the rooms were something to write home about, but the fact that the hostel has print outs of "please take me to this destination" written in Chinese all ready for you to show the bus driver, long distance bus ticket attendant, taxi driver etc-- made it so so easy.

It would be more exceptional service if the hostel also offer transport ticket for hire, with a deposit to be returned when the card is also returned. This would help with the public transport a bit. It maybe a bit complex but should be achievable. ET

Traveling through the rest of China, I'm reminded why I like Sims so much. It's little things... Tsingtao in the bar for 5 yuan. Water coolers with the option for hot OR cold water everywhere. Internet available in the rooms. Atmosphere is fantastic, staff is fantastic, food (read: burgers and asian food) is fantastic. Only problems are: some lockers are broken in the rooms and they've been "out of locks" before, and the location. However, just take the buses around the second ring road.

I've been to top hotels in China and have also been disappointed by hotels that deliver much less than what was promised. Sim's Hostel on the other hand blew me away with their excellent service which surpassed even some of the top end hotels. They guided and assisted me in many ways that many hotels DON"T. Not only this, the place has a special charm to it and also the people who hang out there are wonderful, as some people say, Its never the place, but the people who are there with you.

A fine place to stay, and the bar is excellent and always lively. A little bit out of the way, however.

The room was small but adequate, the shower was excellent (even better than the one at home) we couldn't find the switch to turn on the small light in the room and there was only one powerplug, other than that; all good.

I would strongly recommend Sim's for anyone staying in Chengdu. The hostel has great rooms, super comfy beds, amazing showers, not too mention a nice bar/restuarant with very reasonable priced western food, which for China I must say was quite delicious. The one drawback is the location. It takes at least 20mins to get to any of the places of note in Chengdu, but the hostel is located super close to the main railway station in the city, which makes staying at Sim's when traveling by train easy.

Very nice hostel with friendly and helpfull staff. The name says it all. The hostel is cozy and warm. The hostel is located between several busstops, which make it easy to go further in town. And the beers are jus 5 yuan!!

Sims was a great Hostel. The staff was great and very helpful. It was low season when we were there so there was not much going on. They had a nice trivia night on Wednesday lots of fun!. The hostel itself was very clean and the rooms are adorable!.. Very clean and great atmosphere. Enjoyed our stay there! Thanks!

Although my stay at the hostel was short, the staff were very friendly and in now way seemed to be in a rush to deal with me despite my very late arrival. Rooms were clean and the facilities were well maintained. Will stay here again when passing through Chengdu in the future
