Like the design of the room!

I've been travelling for 17 months and can say that this hostel is up there with some of the best I've stayed in. You can see why they win best hostel annually. Everything that a traveller would need a traveller can get from this place. Other hostels should take notes :-)

Excellent hostel! Has everything you need and want! Clean, friendly English speaking staff, television, dvd's, computers, good working wifi, delicious food, clean toilets, toilet paper, clean beds, light at your bed and adapters (plug and also USB ones). You also have a curtain at your bed which gives you some privacy. Air conditioning worked well. Had an amazing time and will come back here!

Though the location is a bit of a jaunt from the established backpacker ghetto in Jakarta, the separation is worth it, as this hideaway from this big, noisy city truly is a hard place to leave. With some of the best in-house I've eaten, extensive movie collection, a GYM, a rooftop patio with a killer view, and blazing fast wifi, this place is well worth the trouble of finding it to stay here!

Very nice and complete hostel, in the city centre of Jakarta. Friendly and helpful owners and staff. Clean rooms and a lot of facilities: rooftop terrace, kitchen for guests to use, a kitchen where you can order food (free breakfast), a pool table, a movie corner (beamer connected to a computer with lots of movies, series, documentaries, etc), a X-box, more then enough toilets and showers, lockers, etc. It has a nice atmosphere to it. Definitely worth a recommendation!

Cute common space which is nice to meet people in. There are renovations on some of the rooms which is good because ours was not great. The beds were VERY shaky and the room was absolutely sweltering. My friend also woke up with a number of mysterious bites. I had a very negative experience with one of the staff members who did not understand how hostelworld worked and did not know that I had already paid a deposit. Sadly she handled the situation very unprofessionally and was quite rude to me.

For asian hostels, this place has a very high standard. It is clean, the staff is very nice and the food is good. The roof top garden and the movie corner a good places to get to know people. In general you can say that this hostel is a very social place. I stayed there two times ;)

THE standard is average, I only stay one night in Jakarta and quickly move south.

This place gets so much right - dorm beds in the Japanese capsule style giving you more privacy than bunk beds, Beer sold at 7Eleven prices, so you don't have to leave if you're on a bit of a budget. Decent music played in the common room, and fast internet (which is a rarity in Indonesia). Would stay here again.

There is a reason why this is the best place to stay in Jakarta. The dorm rooms aren't typical dorms and you feel like you have your own space. Plus the roof top patio is a must.

everything you would want in a "gateway to the country" hostel. good for meeting other travellers, nice lounge on the roof and hangout spots on the main floor. would only ask for another quiet longe area for reading when it rains (maybe near the kitchen). helpful friendly staff. rooms were small but comfy (love the pod dorm and the privacy it gives). bathrooms so so. good local food across the street. good wifi everywhere. I would stay there again.

One of the best hostels in the world! Only downside it's nowhere near anything. In Jakarta you have to take a taxi or bajaj no matter where you're going from the hostel. Walking is pointless. Great roof terrace w an ingenious music solution that allows guests to plug in their phones and play their own music. Decent bathrooms, lockers in rooms, sockets by every pillow (!), pool table etc. Separate wifi on the roof terrace! Friendly staff. Hard to find for the crappy Indonesian cab drivers

I stayed at Six Degrees twice on my recent trip to Indonesia. It was by far one of my best hotel experiences to date. Good location, excellent staff especially Ning and her lovely cat Nemo. Ning was very kind and helpful in getting me to a nearby supermarket, train station and mall. She even gave me a hug when I checked out. Excellent facilities with a nice rooftop garden. Climb to the very top and see the downtown skyline. Thanks for a wonderful experience Six Degrees! I hope to stay again!

I can't really understand how this hostel got rated "best small Hostel in 2013" by Hostelworld. First of all it's huge and secondly I've seen so many hostels that were much much better. This one was rather average. The athmosphere is not good at all, the rooftop is like a construction site. Staff have that typical "megapolis arrogance" and are not as nice as other Indonesians. The location was ok I guess, can't really compare to Jalan Jaksa. Breakfast was ok too.

After 6 months of travelling this has to be the best hostel we have stayed in. All the facilities were fantastic, the staff were so friendly and welcoming and the hot water was HOT!!!!
