Go there if you don't a hotel experience! It's the best hostel I've ever been.

Skadaveli is a friendly and quirky little guesthouse in Tbilisi old town run by the affable and helpful Irakli, who speaks excellent English and went out of his way to assist us in our stay. As the Lonely Planet review says, the guesthouse looks dilapidated from the outside (in keeping with the character of the area), but the rooms themselves are pleasant and clean. I've never stayed anywhere quite like this. Lovely little place.

Wifi worked well. There was hot water. It was clean. It is like a private home located on a side street (the entrance is not on the street but on the side). Even though Georgia is not expensive, hostels/hotels are expensive as they cater to Russian tourists with money, therefore this bed and breakfast was acceptable value for the money.

I am grateful to have been a guest at Skadaveli. The host, Irakli, one of the gems of Georgia, makes you feel welcome and at ease with his wonderful smile. He's very attentive and helpful. It's a pleasure to sit on the lovely veranda with its old carved wood, looking out over a sample of old Tbilisi courtyard. My mattress was stellar--orthopedic!--the water is good to drink, the shower has good water pressure, my room comfortable and spacious. And all is especially clean, much thanks to Nadia.

We stayed at this guesthouse for 4 nights and had no problems about anything. The renovated building has a very charming atmosphere and the owner of the place (Irakli) was very friendly and heplful on all matters. Highly recommended.

Great place to stay!
