Broken window in the bathroom. Numerous flies, as well as either small black worms, or leeches on the shower floor. Had to leave immediately. Went to hotel Jireh next door which was very very nice and not too expensive.

Staff was very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. A bit noisy outside but it was right by the center of town so that was to be expected. Doors locked fine but there were no other security measures; anyone could walk up right up to our room. Great breakfast in the morning: fresh fruit, cereal, and eggs. Overall a good place to stay for a night.

The hostel was clean and cheap, which is basicall what I wanted. No bugs, clean linen, although towels are not provided. Breakfast included which was good, Ronnie was helpful and friendly. Within walking distance to tons of shops and restaurants, would reccommend.

I was in a room with no windows, so it was really smelly. There were no common area, no lockers. The kitchen was really small and there was no space for our food in the fridge. The staff is nice though, very helpful.

when I saw the reviews of this place I thought hmmm sounds pretty good, After driving around in a cab {no one`s heard of it} and eventually finding it and being shown to my room, I didn`t know whether to laugh or cry. What an absolute dump of a place.Flimsy door, cables exposed on the shower head, dogs scrapping in the middle of the night, what more could you ask for? I wouldn`t go back there if my best hat blew in, A word about the online deposit too, $5 becomes 5pounds with charges, rip -off, boo

the hostel could do with a spring cleaning, although, the bed and sheets were nice and clean. the bathroom is average but the shower was the nicest i had in costa rica (compared to other cheap hostels). the kitchen is quite badly equipped and the fridge is not really working. the staff are nice, friendly and helpful and we felt that the room was safe. if you're not a fervent pentecostal christian avoid being there on a sunday or any other festivity... they get quite loud!

Excellent hostel for what you pay... You can't really expect much when you only pay 10$ a night but the hostel exceeded my expectations with the excellent breakfast and informative staff. There wasn't really any hot water and the building was old but they came in and cleaned our bathroom every day.

The Hostel is on the direct road to the volcano and we could see the volcano from our breakfast table. The breakfast was really a breakfast and the room was very clean. It was no problem to ask the host a lot of questions and get directs. He showed us the way to the free hot springs. The Hostel sent us a long list of possible trips, which was very helpful. The water was just \"natural warm\", but because of the heat this was not a problem. Thank you, sleepers!
