The house is absolutely beautiful, the showers are hot, and the (non-bunk) beds are comfortable. Karel is also very friendly and helpful. There is a dishwasher in the hostel, so you know that your dishes are disinfected. (I\'ve seen people \"wash\" dishes in a hostel before by just rinsing them, and so I\'m always wonder about how clean hostel dishes are.) My only complaint is that there are no lockers.

Owner Comment (Show)
Dear Emily, Thank you so much for your feed-back. It's always very useful for me to learn about what people think about my place. Like in your review, I am always amazed about what details people look at. Indeed, for centuries people had a lot of diseases because of hand-washed dishes. Lucky I have a dish-washer! Maybe I should put a big sign above the sink: "No dish-washing by hand unless hands and dishes are perfectly disinfected". Allow me to state that absolute judgments are most of the time dangerous. For instance, I offer to people a home, not a "hostel". This means people will behave as they are at home! If I change this, my place would not be a "home" anymore. Likewise, having a battery of lockers at my place would not fit into this spirit. But of course, I can put away safely valuables if people ask for it. You just have to ask for it..... Best regards, Karel

Great Bed and Breakfast with a lot of charm. Warm and inviting and the owner is very friendly and helpful. No major complaints. The breakfast is included, but it's only bread, jam, cereal, coffee, etc. The location is okay, but it's a 25-30 minute walk to the Grand Plaza, but it'll help you walk off all of the beer, chocolate, and waffles that you consume. There is a city tram that you can take, we just never checked it out. Will probably stay here again when we return to BXL.

Karel was so nice! He has a sweet dog too that barks when people leave the hostel with there bags because he does not want them to go! The free breakfast was very good and included bread with jam, peanut butter, butter, croissants, pastries, fruit, and various drinks. The rooms where spacious and clean. I felt very secure leaving my personal belongings there. Before you head out the door on your first day Karel sits you down and gives you a map and shows you where to go. It was great!

GReat hospitality. The owner very friendly. He waits for you and gives you a map and places where to go and visit. Very valuable when you are not familiar with the city.

A real pleaasure to stay in an original Art Deco townhouse which really felt like a home. The generosity of Karel in sharing this amazing place with all his guests made you feel very special.

I thoroughly enjoyed my 6 day stay at Sleephere. It was clean, comfortable, and such a nice place to come home to every night in an unfamiliar city. I was initially worried about security because there weren't lockers and room doors couldn't be locked from the outside, but nothing got stolen. The entire property, including the garden and the occasional opera singing and piano playing in the living room, exuded a sense of warmth and homeliness. I'll definitely Sleephere again!

Great place for short and longer stay in Brussels. You feel like you are at home. The owner of this hostel is a very friendly and helpful person. Hospitable B&B close to the city centre. I stayed there 8 nights and I can really recommend it. 100% !

It was amazing! The owner was very kind and helpful, the house was very beautiful and functional. It wasn't very close to the centre, but it was really near n underground station so I have nothing to complain about! If I go back to Brussels I would definitively stay in Sleephere again!!
