Staff are so nice, the private room I stayed is just what I want or I can say perfect single room as a backpacker, you will see how professional the boss/owner is, even when you asking him a shuttle train's schedule, and he does know other regions in east TW preaty well.

staffs are very helpful and hospitable. I love when they introduce us with other guests, it breaks the ice. Fong also did treat us a local dish, chicken or duck meat. Another staff (sorry, I forgot his name), which is from Taichung, even telling me a lot of places to eat and sightseeing around the hostel. He even explained a lot of places to go in Taichung, as it's my next trip. Thanks, and will definitely come and stay there again.

Sleeping Boot hostel is Wonderful. The owner/manager, Mr. Fon is very friendly and super helpful to guests, and an overall cool guy. The hostel is very well managed and always clean. Additionally, their part time staff is great. Hugs and high fives to the Sleeping Boot hostel crew!!!!

The decor of the hostel was comfortable which feels like home (or better than home). The owner was very kind in recommending places with good food and planning of train travel.

Awesome place. Friendliest and most personable owner you'll find anywhere and sweet staff. Good location a short walk from busy downtown shopping and eating sector, and walking distance from Hualien main station. Lot's a bathrooms, ultra soft beds, free computer to use, free lockers, and great nightly fees. Overall affordable, clean, comfy and friendly, great place to stay in Hualien.

I was traveling around Taiwan for 3 weeks and this was by far one of the best hostels I've seen. The staff was super nice and helpful. Only thing I didn't like was the rule that you can't eat in your room. But I understand they just want to keep places clean, so it wasn't a big deal. Really recommend this place!

Hi, I'm Korean who stayed in this guesthouse for 4 nights in December. Wow.. This was one of the greatest choices in my 2 years backpacker's life. Staff were friendly and location is perfect! You can catch any train to Taipei main station or east bound destination at Songshan train station which is just 3 min walk from the guesthouse. The second biggest night market in Taipei is just around the corner. The bed was not super nice but enoughly comfortable at it's value.

would be even better if the shower is converted from a wet shower by adding a barrier to prevent the water from wetting the whole bathroom. This can be accomplished easily by adding a barrier of several inches high so that water does not flow to the rest of the bath room when one showers.
