The room was a bit cold along the night and early morning...the heating machine was not working properly but the staff provided us electric blankets though the problem was not inside our beds.

We really loved the location of this hotel as it was very handy to everywhere we wanted to go. The staff was very friendly and helped us when we wanted directions and advise. The rooms were quite average though and weren't as clean as they could be, for eg. there was mould on the area around the air-conditioning system and in the bathrooms. We would definitely consider staying there again but hope the standard of cleanliness could be improved.

The very helpful staff spoke excellent English and were happy to give very good instructions to get around Beijing and find shops restaurants etc. The coffee is great but a little overpriced. The sitting room is a nice place to relax and surf the net or read. Reception is always open and manned. The rooms are very basic but at least they are heated and cooled.

Really nice staff, food is a little pricey though. Place is not dirty, just a little run down, but the location is great and the staff as noted are incredibly nice people.

The location was excellent, situated on a lovely lake & an easy 7 minute walk to the nearest subway (situated on a convenient line that goes to Tiannamen Square & an easy change for The Summer Palace) & a big shopping centre. There were also great places to eat within an easy walk! Staff were very friendly & helpful, chasing up missing train tickets & booking us to a fantastic tour of the Great Wall. Big thanks to Cathy for going above & beyond to get us a taxi to the station, it's appreciated

This was my first Hostel so I was was initially shocked at the standard but I was reminded how much we were paying and it put things into perspective. It is in a Great Location and the staff were really helpful. We stayed in a twin room which was a bit rough round the edges and could of done with a lick of paint and few pictures maybe? We took a trip the the wall organised nt he hostel staff. It was 3 hours out of town but worth it (Jinshaling). Ignore the tat sellers they won't leave you alone

Everything was fine. However, we were shocked at the delapitated condition the whole hostel is in. The outside needs a good scraping and a good paint job. The doors need refurbishing and general upkeep. The staff in the office was very very helpful and very informative. The location is not too bad. It's quiet at night and we felt safe walking hoome in the dark. I wish I could give it a better rating. I think it should get better rating after a good paint job.

the staff is very nice and helpfull but I booked an only girls room and upon arrival they told me i'd have to stay with boys. When I denied this option they found a room for me, that has not been cleaned yet. They put me up there although the toilet was apparently broken and -sorry to be so clear about that- the poop of the former inhabitant was all over the place. I stumbled out of there immediatly and stayed at a more expensive but at least clean hotel room. ps i had to pay the hostel anyway!

Wonderful. Just great. So much so, that I have decided to live here - for a full year - whilst I attend University. Far better than any flat or apartment I could've hoped to find.
