A pleasant little place, very friendly staff, clean, adequate rooms and in an ok location - the areas nice, the lake is interesting and there are plenty of bars and restaurants but at the same time you are a little way from the main sights. Metro is close though. Loved this hostel, staff really knowledgeable and helpful. So friendly, bend over backwards to assist nice and quiet too. Location fantastic next to a beautiful picturesque lake. with the lake just around the corner makes your 10 minutes walk (slow pace like myself)to subway station enjoyable most of the time.u'd see locals fishing,walking dogs etc on the way.Can get local & cheap food within walking distance and also few steps away from the nearest subway station. Lovely helpful staff, great location - it's a must to get a three person bike around the lake! Clean rooms - and lovely hot showers even if they are over squat toilets - kill two birds with one stone! Good hostel, fairly handy to subway & bus direct to Summer Palace. Lake views??? Good place for sleep - most comfortable beds out of 4 Beijing hostels I have tried. Saw 2 people fall to ground on broken outdoor seats! Beer is expensive (10Y) aginst 2 or 3 in other hostels.
