Rooms were clean, bathrooms were clean... Lift was working, the only annoying part were student groups running through the halls and basically acting their age!

stayed in a room with 3 snorers, was awful but i understand that is beyond control but when mice are running through your room and you can hear them scurrying at night it can be helped, i booked another night because i didn't have anywhere to stay. i managed to get a house and tried to cancel the last two nights and not even one was offered cash back.

There is a bar downstairs, and a lot of young people staying there, it was a little bit noisy in our floor, with teenagers talking loud al though the night. But that was the only problem the location is the best, very good value for money, and great breakfast although it is no included.

Nice and modern hostel, located very close to the Royal Mile. A staff member was unpolite at the arrival. But, it worths the money.

Everything is pretty good. Would recommended it! One thing to mention, a staff entered the private room I was in without knocking.

good location, excellent bar

Great hostel. My room was above the bar so was a bit noisy at night. But other than that it is an amazing hostel

We had a twin ensuite. exceptionally clean, could not fault. Lovely shower, always hot water. Overlooked smoking area/courtyard for bar below but not too much of an issue with noise. There is a kitchen for guests to use which i don't think was obvious from the website. lots of utensils and again very clean. just off royal mile 10 mins from airlink last stop and 10 mins from grass market. Seems if you wanted to bring someone in with you there would be nothing to stop you as staff never checked..

Staff were excellent and happy to have quick yarn.

Decent enough hostel in great location. Rooms are noisy (old creaky floors and bunk beds, with over-the-street noise), breakfast is not included (available for about £5), kitchen is big but lacking crockery and cutlery, bathrooms are not very well laid out (everything gets wet in the shower stall as there's no shelf or anything), wifi is not available everywhere as advertised (only on the main floor). If coming from Waverley Station, to avoid a quick-but-steep uphill climb, go via North Bridge!!

Great location near the Royal Mile. Nice helpful staff, huge bar, clean rooms and great security. Very large hostel.

The internet is a joke ... free wi fi throughout the building.... translating to only works in the bar and drops in and out. you can get an upgrade for some money at the reception. it would be nice to have a kitchen as well even though the food in the bar is alright and reasonably priced. Seems to have a good stag/hen party income at the weekend

Excellent assistance!

PERFECT!! We stayed in the SCH Edinburgh for 3 nites. It is the perfect location to discover E. or just of fun. Thanks u SCH

Very friendly staff, excellent location, clean and comfortable. Rooms were also warm which I considered a real plus as I came from a hot climate.

the bar it the only lounge and therefore it isn't much of a bar. lots of people sitting on computers, sleeping, waiting and lots of under-age people (depending when you go)

As usually I can only give SCH * * * * * They are way ahead of the rest so, deffo top class

If could, please give higher level rooms to the people who need to wake up in early morning to attendent other tours in Scotland. It was a bad stay experience in the hostel for us as there was a bar very close to the room and music stopped until 2 am in the morning. Unfortunately, we needed to waked up at 6.30 am for highland trip.
