The 10 pound each cash only deposit rule is ridiculous - we stayed here on our last night in the UK, trying desperately to get rid of all our pounds (because we would only need euro thereafter) and the guy wouldn't bend on the rule at all, forcing me to walk 5 blocks in rain to the nearest cash machine to take out 20 pounds which we would only then get back the NEXT DAY, and have to get rid of, again. If you're desperate for a deposit from me, let me pay by card, and refund it ONTO my card.

For the money, it was great. The location is perfect if you plan on walking a lot or taking the tube. The staff is very nice; they want to help and they sometimes just wanna chat! The 3 beds high bunkbeds were pretty scary, but they had curtains, which is a very good idea!. The shower in our room sprayed like hell everywhere, so the bathroom floor was always flooded. No atmosphere, lots of people staying there looking for a job. Nice downstairs lounge w/ TV, DVDs, WiFi and stuff. Great value!

It was a really nice stay. The members of the staff have a great attitude and the atmosphere is awesome. The location is good and the hostel is nice and clean. I will stay there again when Im back to london!

This was the first hostel I had ever stayed in. Loctation was amazing right next to Hyde Park and the Queensway undergrand! From the outside the hostel looks amazing. Inside is pretty normal pictures on the site do it justice. We had a private room / ensuite. There were no extra fee's for anything, staff were friendly, the room was a little on the small side hard to fit 2 pices of luggage. Only complaint was the water pressure in the shower was non existant it took 30 minutes to wash my hair!

The rooms are very small some of them don't even have a space to put the lugage which can be unconvenient, I would advise travellers to book 6 bed dorms but not the 9 bed dorms ! And and by the way I drank the undrinkable tap water in the bathrooms during my stay, and I'm perfectly fine :) Otherwise the hostel is quiet and in a nice area.

Heater didnot work ! But the room was OK.

Location, location, location - just off Hyde park and only about a 10 minute walk to Paddington station, Smart is just about the smartest choice in discount accommodations. It was relatively quiet, clean with a very polite staff. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a great, cheap place to stay in London.

I got the good service in very affordable price. I will visit and stay in this hostel in future.
