The staff is very nice and accommodating, and the location is okay. I felt a little unsafe walking at night alone, but it's very convenient for seeing Montmartre. I liked that the dorm room had its own shared bathroom, but found that bathroom to be a bit dirty and lacked any supplies -- even hand soap was missing. For 35 euros plus a night, I think hand soap can be afforded.

The hostel is very close to Gare du Nord which is both a good and a bad thing. It is close to metro and train, but the neighbourhood is not that nice actually. I stayed in a 4 bed room with an en suite bathroom which is very nice. The room is very very small but works quite fine. If the window is not closed, it can be very noisy at night. Wifi is available, but they keep changing the password which is kind of annoying. Overall not bad.

Very clean and quiet room/en suite with keycard entry, comfortable bed, free wifi in lobby, full kitchen, very friendly staff. No lockers in room but a handful of smallish coin-op lockers near reception (coins returned after you retrieve your stuff). Five-minute walk to Gare du Nord. Reasonable price for Paris. Definitely recommended!

This was a really fun hostel to stay at! The staff organize nightly activities to do which is a fun and easy way to meet people! It is located in Kengsinton which is a pretty rich area and farther away from most of the night clubs but It is a five minute walk to Hyde Park, which is beautiful and it's close to the metro stations as well. The common room is big and the kitchen/ dining area is roomy as well so it's easy to cook your own meal.

This is by far one of the best hostels i have stayed at throughout my travels. Although it was fairly expensive to stay here it was well worth it for the beautiful canal, the accessible transit and the shops near by. The best part was definitely the amazing staff! They were always friendly and more than willing to go the extra mile for each guest. I cannot recommend this hostel enough!!

Very good hostel, good location — at 5 minutes from a metro station, also there are some groceries stores nearby. The kitchen is small, but enough to cook something. The staff are kind and willing to help, also I was received speaking my mother language (portuguese) — I think the recepcionist knew about 5 languages. Very clean and safe place, bathroom well designed as well. I'm a solo traveler and I've met some very cool people there.

overall is good but the failure to repair or replace our tv within 24 hours really make us disappointed since we would like to see at least a few hours of french tv programs...

The rooms are a little tight but it is Paris so you cannot complain. The ensuite washroom is terrific and very convenient. The balcony on the front of my room was very nice. The lack of a breakfast option is a bit disappointing but with so many local cafe's its not to bad. The staff have an excellent knowledge of Paris and their English is excellent.

Nice place, rooms a little bit small but again it's Paris. Each room has its own full bathro so that's a plus. No breakfast included and no WiFi in the rooms.

Very convenient! Definitely a good place to stay. It is central enough that you are right next to Montmartre and a 40ish minute walk to the center (Notre Dame, etc.) if you didn't want to take the metro. The staff is very nice and very helpful and I would definitely stay here again to get good value for your money!

I enjoyed my stay at Smart place Paris hostel. And really greatfull to the staff, their help and advice. I stayed in girls dormitory room for 1 week and felt myself safe and comfortable. Very good point is the bathroom in every room, with bath, not only shower. Free wi-fi, computers (2euros per hour), lockers are avalible at the lobby. There is no breakfast service but near the hostel there are many cafes and supermarket so there was no problem to have something for breakfast.

I really enjoyed myself - this was the first hostel experience I ever had and it was nice that the staff was incredibly friendly. They were knowledgeable and accommodating. The room was fine - nothing exceptional, but that's what I was expecting. As a single female travelling alone, I felt safe in the neighborhood and comfortable enough to ask questions. For me, the staff was the most memorable part of my Paris hostel experience. So, good on that front!

I loved this hostel. The common area is cozy and stylish and was never dead, and the kitchen is nice. All the staff I encountered were super friendly and helpful, especially the adorable Latvian! The rooms were comfortable and clean, and the hostel was extremely well-located for connections at Gare du Nord, yet it was located beyond a largeish intersection, which meant that you didn't feel like you were in the midst of unsavoury goings-on right by the train station. Great place! (Smart indeed..)

The mattresses need urgent replacement; the room was quite smelly and the wifi didn't work. The only good thing was the location.

Great place to stay. Close to gare du nord, a lovely walk to Montmartre and Sacre Couer. The lounge is a little small and it is the only place you can access the wifi which meant it could get a little crowded. Great hostel option for Paris.

Did not feel like a safe place in the evenings. The personnel not very welcoming. The 4 bed dorm I was in was too small. No wifi in rooms, only in very small lobby.

Stayed in a mixed dorm. We could hear others every time they moved. The rooms were hot so we had to leave window open and put up with street noise. Bathroom was ensuite and a good size. Rest of room was very small. No internet in the room. Overall, we were satisfied given it was a last minute booking.
