It was very dirty especially the bathrooms they always smelled horrible. The staff was very rude and not very accommodating. The set up of the rooms is awful and I got no sleep the whole time I was there. I have been studying abroad traveling all around Europe and this is one of the worst hostels I have stayed at. London itself is amazing and we met lots of great people staying at this hostel but, just be prepared!

The internet didn't work a lot and reception was hard to get inside the hostel. The rooms were a bit dingy and the showers (which you have to continue to push in every 30 secs to make them run) went from freezing cold to scorching hot with no in between. Also I couldn't breathe in the common areas because of so many school groups.

The rooms and beds were clean and comfortable but the doors to the nearly toilets on the 3rd floor were continuously slamming throughout the nights which was pretty frustrating.

If your looking for location this is ok but I felt like I was at summer camp. People running in the halls and speaking loudly late at night. The room was straight forward don't expect much. Hot showers and plenty if them though.

Wifi wasn't working. The beds were too small for people above 185cm of height. Deposit was required but had no previous knowledge of that, probably because of poor communication. Pillow looked kind of weared down, and there was no cover for blankets just an extra bedsheet. I know its common in some hostels, but still sucks. Also there was a really bed smell all over the place.

Location was the only bonus. The hostel felt over sized and industrial and was full of young students (8-16 years old) constantly. The rooms were uncomfortable and anything extra from the staff had a charge along with it... lockers, WiFi, etc. The security at the door is also very rude, but they do their job well I guess. Find somewhere else if you can.

This was my second visit in 9 months. Had a brilliant time. The staff were brill, it's around the corner from Russell Sq underground(Piccadilly line). Can't fault this place, had a great sleep, great vaule for money and it's also 10 minutes from Kings Cross with great links into the city. One thing I will say is watch out for the showers as they can be too hot.

The common areas were really quite filthy, and it doesn't matter too much if you're not planning on eating there, but if you are it's rather unpleasant. Security was tight which is nice however the staff at the front desk could use a bit of a lesson on friendliness. The crowd @ Russell Square is very young, so that's great if you want to party! A bit of a mixed bag, really.

A Zoo for Travelers, strangest experience ever. Couldn't wait to leave.

The common areas (internet room, lounge, dining hall) were very clean and spacious, but the toilet stalls were almost too small to squeeze into. Whilst the custom dorm beds provided maximum privacy, they also kind of boxed me in (and the bed was rather short.) The staff did their jobs, but did not seem too interested. All-in-all a pleasant enough way to stay in Bloomsbury.

It wasn't really clean (an empty bottle of fruit juice in my bed) and the breakfast was very small (toast with jam and butter and cornflakes with milk and no coffee)

Hostel was perfectly located near the Russell Square Tube station, was very clean and had helpful staff. However, the facilities and structure was very old, and is in need of a change to bring it to modern standards. The stairs was steep and there was no elevater, and the rooms were very stuffy, with no control over the heating. Facilities such as Internet acess, security, breakfast, and resting areas were adequete, but noise levels needed to be lower.

This hostel is run purely to make money as opposed to a fun, friendly warm hostel. First impressions, the staff were very rude and not friendly or helpful at all. The rooms are loud with paper thin walls so you can hear everything! The bathrooms were always dirty and they charge £2 per bag for luggage storage. £5 per towel for hire. It's close to the underground which is the only thing that this 'hostel' has got going for it. We cancelled our last 2 nights here just to get out of there!

Very noisy after 10pm due to groups running around in the corridors between rooms and the staff don't do anything. Very poors equiped rooms with no hangers and any kind of shelf. They mix guests with hostel staff wich is totally unconfortable.

In hindsight, it was really good value for money. The staff were pleasant and the bed was comfy. Only downsides were that the other guests were far too noisy and the staff will never provide keys for the lockers in the shower rooms (wouldn't have minded if they had made that clear on the website).

I was not very imressed with this hostel. the staff were very rude and unhelpful, and everytime i had a question they would snap at me. Also the vibe of the hostel was awful, it was completely full of French school groups who would hang around the common room and loudly play games and everyone else felt uncomfortable being in there. The only thing i liked about it was the location, it was right near a train station. if all you need is a place to sleep for pretty cheap then this place is fine.

Great great staff very kind and polite, very professional and helpful. It's a great value for Russel hostel!! Laundry + dryer and shower service free 24/7 available, open wi-fi connection (improving sometimes it failed). I always see cleaner working around. Great number of shower and toilets. Free breakfast (bread, butter, jam, corn flakes with tea/milk. Linen is included. Available service of security for baggage and 1 medium locker avilable for each person in room. Great location near tube!

We have really enjoyed the stay here. The prices were fair, the rooms and toilets were squeaky clean, nice student-y smart atmosphere. We'll definitely come again if in London.
