It is quite expensive but great thanks to the location and the staff ! Otherwise it is a normal youth hostel

We had to move from room because there was an ant invasion in our room. Staff was not animate about it. When we were changed to the new room, the room was filled with garbage, inspite of the hostel\'s policy of no food or beverage in the rooms. When we confronted the manager about this, we had no response. Further to that, the noise hours were not respected at all. Location was excellent, and that is the only positive highlight of this hostel.

The hostel was OK, but so many large student groups were a little bit disturbing. The price is very good too but I think that charging for the luggage room after your check-out is not correct.

Not impressed. I got many bite marks from the bed so I assume there must have been some parasites, which is anything but a good sign. Also, there were no maps available for customers on the reception, which is just a minor detail but if you don't have you're own map, you might find yourself not knowing which way to get to the center. The breakfast was VERY basic but I guess you can't really expect more for this price.

Although I only stayed for one night I was impressed by the hostel. The staff was helpful and although I stayed in a 24 bed dorm, it was quiet and clean.

Rooms are tiny, triple bunks. Breakfast is barely anything and extremely plain. Wifi is on and off. Not the greatest overall but manageable for a a couple of nights.

The welcome was unfriendly by the staff, we were treated like farm animals. The room was overbooked so they just kicked out an Asian girl, who was "supposed to" move to another room to make space for us 3. We toilets were cleaned every morning but they were dirty within a few hours cause too many people were using them within the 24hours until the next clean up. The atmosphere was very not good, since the security always annoyed people to show their key cards, treated visitors unfriendly.

Let\'s just say you get what you pay for. The biggest issue for me was that the rooms I stayed in were very warm during the night and poor ventilation. Also there were little space in the rooms for suitcases etc. And earplugs are a necessity! this building is not exactly soundproof! If you are longer than, let say 170cm, you most definitely will notice that the beds are a bit short... but they do have curtains which is great! gives you a bit more privacy.

pretty good location, i really liked the private curtains for each bed. aside from the farting man above my bunk, my stay was good. but there is no bar so that sucks and some mean man yells at you when you try and use the kitchen. bon voyage!

The hostel has a great central location in zone 1, close to all amenities and place to eat althought to London's Center. The staff is very young but very professional and polite. The hostel is not a grand hotel but it is well organized and there is a service also in the night. No coverfew. Breakfast basic also shower and laundry. But okay.. Very good the locker to buy in the room and for baggage security you can pay a storage for them in a locked common room.

It's a tad bit too crowded and security does not enforce basic etiquette like quiet hours from 10pm or prevent people from creating problems for others by parking their luggage all across the dining hallway.

It was very crowded, specially a breakfast. Too any bes in every room, and you have to pay for your lockers. Moreover; you have to pay 2 pounds for leaving your backs if you check out! When usually, most of the hostel let you keep bags there until you take it this very day

We had a mouse in our room. The showers in the cellar for the whole hostel are quite poor and not enough. Breakfast until 9.30 am is too short, the staff began to clean the kitchen exactly at 9.30, so we prefered to have breakfast in another location. We had no possibility to hang up our clothes in our room or to put things on a shelf. If I recommended this location to others, than only for one or two days. We stayed there for 5 nights and it was very very uncomfortable.

It's the third time I've been at Smart Russel and it's always a pleasure to spend a night there, I think I'll always book this hostel in my journeys to London. Perfectly located to go to every place in the city, close to metro and bus stations, and in the middle of my favourite area in London, Bloomsbury, but the best thing is absolutely the staff, always nice and friendly, helpful with everything you need. And it's also definitely the best value hostel in the centre.

Staff wasn't polite. Maybe the night staff, but the ones that were at day, horrible. Can't believe that if I stayed there for 3 days I can't leave my baggage for free for some hours, the day I check out. Internet too expensive The breakfast included, poor. AND PLEASE IF YOU CHECKOUT EARLY IN THE MORNING, BE AWARE OF THE HORRIBLE STAFF. Instead of Give me 10£ refund when I checked out, the gave me 10€. Horrible attitude knowing that I don't live in Europe so I dont recognise them and I was sleepy
