While the location was convenient and the price was great, the sullen staff spoke little English and made little effort. There was no place to keep my belongings except the main staff closet, and they tried to charge me even for that. I walked up and down several flights of stairs from my room to said closet just to change clothes for the night, and they would not keep it safe while I showered - I had to bring the suitcase in with me to keep it from being stolen. Not recommended.

Facilities are decent enough, and they have about everything you'd need. Finding your way around the building can be a maze. I should of known better than picking a large room since people were in and out all the time flicking on the light at all hours, and some even had a nerve to be talking on their phone at 4 in the morning. Also the room was situated right off the street and the window had to be kept open to keep the room from being too hot. Not for those that can't sleep easily.

Probably one of the best located hostels in London; the rooms can be cramped, but Russel Square is expensive real estate!! Suggest a book a smaller dorm. I am of average height 175 cm and have no difficulty with the beds, which is a comment made several times in their feedback, Staff are very helpful. I have stayed here several times and will continue to do so,

No security lockers in my room. One had to walk down into the far end of the cellar to take a shower. The washing machines was crazy expensive. Rude staff behind the desk. It felt more like a prison than a hostel. One of the worst places I've stayed at!

Cleaning ladies are annoying as hell as they always yell in Russian all over. They barge in and are very rude, Internet wasn't working half the time Staff English very poor Breakfast very poor, no variety, only cornflakes, milk, toast, butter, jam, tea, coffee Showers were way too hot and could not be adjusted. Room 304 had a BAD draft and half the room got sick from it Beds only fit people under 6,0 feet, otherwise you won't fit the madras. UNACCEPTABLE!!! Kitchen appliances not working

This place is straight-forward. Not much character; no vibe or anything. Not a bad thing though. Security is tight. After 1900, guards will ask to see your keycard, and you better have it. There are roomsafes, but not the most secure. Location is good; 2 min from an Tube stop, a pub, a grocery store. Staff is great. Not the most fun, but who goes to a hostel to party? Place is clean. Breakfast is toast, jam, and cereal. Showers are good, hidden though. free Wifi, rent computers. Recommended.

Staff were rude and not very helpful. Showers were absolutely appalling. When I stayed a man in my room had money stolen and the police were called to question everyone in the room. Awful experience. Good location and cheap, but I don't think the price is worth staying there.

Very nice, clean, good beds, linen, etc, plenty of showers and toilets. Staff seemed a bit unsure of some protocols, and weren't the most helpful. The toilet cubicles were tiny, knees were often pressed against the door. The beds are not recommended for any tall people. Bed length estimate is 5ft 9, so anyone taller than that probably won't be able to lie down flat. Some corridors got very loud at night, but this was due to inconsiderate patrons, though staff didn't give warnings.

Not a big fan of this place at all. The staff were not helpful whatsoever and nobody seemed to know what was going on. It took them an hour to let me know that even though the sign on the door said free entry to clubs on Fridays and Saturdays, they haven't done that in months. Quite annoying that all the showers are in the basement and you have to go through a maze to find them. Hostel should let people know they can't yell in the rooms at 7:30 am...

The workers were so rude and completely unhelpful. I've never felt so uncomfortable in a hostel before. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.
