The good: - Competetive pricing of rooms - Clean - Central Location within walking distance to a main subway line The bad: - The wifi internet was extremely slow & often comes to a complete hault. If this is a concern for you & you need it skip this hotel. - For 7€ the breakfast is too expensive. It is a generic German style breakfast buffet. Not bad but you can eat outside for far less (2-3€) The ugly: The rooms are rather spare. They are clean and spacious but not very inviting

Beds were comfortable and the linen clean. Having the toilets ensuite surely helps maintain its cleanliness. Lack of lockers and power sockets made it a bit inconvenient if you are only planning on leaving your bags in the room and sleeping

I had a great stay for six nights in a mixed dorm room with six beds. The hostel is one block away from the metro making tourist attractions 15-20 minutes away. There are many restaurants and local bars within blocks of the hostel as well as grocery stores for cheap eating. The beds and room was amazing, hotel level. Staff usually helpful.

For the price really good but don't expect to meet other travelers here. This hostel is more like a hotel then a hostel. So if your a solo traveler you might won't to think about it. But the room were really clean and the beds were really comfortable. Get your own bathroom with is nice. Breakfast you have to pay for. Staff was friendly

Stayed here cause it was cheaper option in Berlin. I should have paid more and not stayed here. There's no AC so you sleep with the windows open. Then there are restaurants open late with outside seating so you can hear them. Then you hear the food trucks stocking up the grocery store across the street at 6:30 AM. Then there is construction going on which starts at 7 AM. Stay away if you want a good sleep. The location is far away from most sights. But the metro is a 3 minute walk.

The hostel was in a good location, close to the U- and S-Bahn. It's a mixed neighbourhood with lots of multicultural restaurants, as well as shopping and residential buildings. Everything you could want is within a 15-minute walk, and it takes no more than 30 minutes to reach the centre. But the hostel itself leaves much to be desired. Rooms are cramped and poorly ventilated, the bathroom wasn't very clean and didn't get cleaned for four days. There was no atmosphere at all and no kitchen.

No lockers in room, ridiculous for a hostel. By morning my 8 person room had about 13 people sleeping in it. Poor security. One bathroom/showerroom for an 8 person dorm, which was occupied all morning. I tried to find an alternate shower elsewhere on the same floor, there was none. This is simply just a hotel with lots of beds in each room. No air con either and in summer room was too hot and couldn't get cool even with windows open on a cool night. Not recommended.

This hostel seems a bit out of the way but there are plenty of facilities around and the U bahn is a few minutes walk away. The rooms are more hotel like, they are very comfortable but there is no air conditioning which can make sleeping uncomfortable. There are no lockers but there are draws to place your things under the bed. It's a bit harder to socialise with people who aren't in your room because the hostel is quite big but the facilities are worth it in my opinion.

I would highly recommend Smart Stay. The hostel is modern, clean, has a great breakfast and is near a lively street. The lady at the front desk even printed my airline boarding pass!

I had an amazing stay! It was easy to get to with public transport and l felt safe in the neighbourhood at night walking alone. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere was more like a hotel than a hostel, as other reviews have said. Which for me didn't really make a difference. The room was clean and comfortable. The only drawbacks were that they didn't have towels and there was no option to lock up luggage during the days. I would definetly stay there again.
