Well, the hostel has no signboard, it looks just like a normal shoplot outside. Lobby was a mess but unexpectedly the room was very much satisfactory. New renovations & facilities of the room made it worth the price. Location is excellent, near MRT station & a shopping mall is nearby. Will definitely stay there if I ever visit Singapore again.

The beds are even better and more comfortable than our own! My husband was unwell and Smeet couldn't have been more helpful. A real gem in Little India and a bargain.

Unfinished plastering and dodgy ac but nice touch with the breakfast. Staff and facilities were very good for the money. One or two improvements and this place would have rocked my socks off.

I'd never been to Singapore before, but the smeet home was the right choice. The owner, Raja, was very warm to us and a great help in how to visit the Singapore. We arrived in the evening and we hadn't changed our money, but he let us in and after taking shower and a rest, we got out and on return payed his fee. The Smeet home is just minutes from the Farrer Park MRT station and a minute walk to a 24 hour shopping center. Also it's near to little India. I'll choose smeet on my next trip to there

Great location, the staff were very helpful and friendly. The only thing which was a bit of inconvience was coming downstairs to get onto the Internet.

We\are 48/50 backpackers in early retirement. We booked a room with private bath. Smeet Hostel proved to be exactly what we were looking for while visiting Singapore for 5 days: respectable accommodation in very good central location (side street with excellent access to MRT) and very friendly and welcoming hostel operators. The room and the bath was clean, all gadgets working well, bed was comfortable and the room had windows and WiFi in the lobby...... what more a budget travel could ask for?

we stayed four days in the guesthouse and kept asking the owner several times for a cleaning, nevertheless we didn't get it. Instead we got a bunch of mice in our rooms, nibbling our spices in the backpacks... the owner was not really friendly nor helpful. the breakfast is poor too, just toast and old smelly butter with jam. Furthermore we needed a laundry and the owner offered us to use the washing machine - for 10$ per load!!! we got it washed cheaply in a laundry shop for around 5 $....

We needed a room for the night between flights, and this did the job. Clean double ensuite, basic free breakfast in the morning, friendly guy working at the reception desk. More of a no frills hotel than a hostel.

We really enjoyed our stay in the hostel. The location in Little India is easy to reach by MRT and max. 5 minutes walk from the station. Te room is small but clean and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Its worth the money and I can definetely recommend to stay here

Location is close to subway and just a few stops outside of the main part of the city. The wifi was only in the lobby, not the rooms. The room was clean and large for a hostel (especially the bathroom). The place was pretty much just like they described it.

When we arrived at this hostel, we thought the place was shut down. There was no staff to greet us, but thankfully there was another guest who searched around to find someone to show us to our room. Very old facilities and the room wasn\'t clean enough to make up for that. We chose this place because it had one of the only available ensuite options and was 2 blocks from the metro, but it wasn\'t worth it just to have our own shower. They seem like a nice family, but not into running an int\'l hostel.

A cheap hostels with clean rooms in a good location. Mustafa center is just near by, metro is 5-10min walk away. You can even walk to downtown if you want to. Nice and helpfull staff.

Nice people and a good location! But unfortunately the room wasn't that clean as expected. The bin wasn't emptied and the room didn't seem to be cleaned after the last guest.
