Smile Beach Resort Reviews

We found it strange to stay there. Just a strange feeling and somebody was shooting with a gun in the mittle of the night so we left that resort next morning. But The beach is damn beautiful over there... and all the other resorts at the beach as well^^.

A group of 9 of us stayed here for the Full Moon Party. For us it was the perfect location- a taxi ride away from the party itself so not too manic on the resort, and only a 2 minute walk to the beautiful beach. Lots of restaurants to visit but not many 'bars', so if you're after a wild night every night perhaps this isn't the place for you. It was just what we wanted though, our group of couples and friends had a brilliant time. Staff helpful, bungalows spacious and hotel food very yummy!

I stayed at the Smile Beach Resort with my girlfriend for 3 nights during the full moon party and we very disappointed. It's far from Thong Sala (150b taxi each), they make you pay a high price for wifi and internet (everywhere else in Thailand has had free wifi), the bungalow was hot- fan was loud, the staff didn't speak much English nor were they very helpful, the hammock was hung in a way where it couldn't be used, and no hot water. Overall unpleasant experience and we couldn't wait to leave.

The food in the restaurant is good!

Two years ago Smile was very good: low price, clean rooms, friendly staff, great and cheap food in the hotel`s restaurant. But now Smile changed: cold stuff… We were seating half hour in restaurant and waiting for the menu, but nobody pay attention (: And next time when we get opportunity to try food we were disappointed: pha-tai was wish tomato souse… it tasteless. Near our lodge was pile of trash and sometimes wind brought terrible smell.

If your after a quiet beachside place to stay within travelling distance (30 mins) to The Full Moon Party then id reccoment Smile Beach. There isnt much happening on the island unless your into Yoga or going to the beach party. The small, quiet but friendly area of Had Salad offers lots of scooter hires and a couple of shops.Would HIGHLY reccomend you eat at the little Thai Restaurant run by a lady on her own....The BEST food and cheapest in the area. Would def stay here again!! :)
