the shower is in a separate building to the dorms. it was fairly clean, but the buildings and furnishings are quite old.
Correct hostel, a bit expensive for what you get but it's the average price for Belgium. Good location, about 5-10 mins. by walk from the Grand'Place. As for the showers, it is very feasible to wash with one hand while pulling the string; the things that annoyed me most are that it's a mixed shower (my apologies to the couple I interrupted by coming in the room) and that there is no way to keep your bag/clothes from getting wet.
The best hostel we have stayed at on our trip so far. Not only is bruge an amazing city, but staying at the snuffel hostel certainly tops it off. The bar is very chilled, well priced drinks and by far the best part was the friendly locals who made us feel at home over a beer. Rooms were nice, beds comfortable and location fantastic, very short walk to the city centre. The laundry next door was a bonus as well. Our memories of Brugge have been enhanced by our stay at this hostel!
Showers are incredibly lacking in security as there is no door of any kind which can be locked. Any patron from thebar downstairs can walk right in

the hostel is at the bus stop no 3,13 if you arrived at train ,you can take it easily. it is bad to take shower in the same bath room with man . i have to enter to the room no.12 to enter my room and i have to pass the alcohlol smell and loud talk at late night so i cannot slept. it is very bad.
The staff was very accommodating and helpful. It was nice that we were able to leave our bags their during the day even after we checked out. The atmosphere was nice, loud at times, but fun. The fact that the showers we in a separate building was annoying.
The worst thing is the bathroom!!! To go there we had to pass through other room, go down the stairs, pass through the bar, go outside the bar, get in the other building. Secondly and most ridiculous is that we had to keep pulling a metal rope for the water come out, so you have just on hand free for taking bath. After that we bought some beers in the supermarket, as there were no other common area we started to drink in the bar, but we were asked rudely to drink outside as it was not allowed.
I really enjoyed my stay here. It's a quirky kitsch kind of place with lots of character & a break from the norm. If you want modern squeaky clean, this isn't the place for you, but i really enjoyed it. Yes you have to walk through the bar & a courtyard to get to the showers, but i didn't mind that as in the mornings there was no one in the bar anyway & it's only a tiny courtyard. The breakfast was good, & bed was sooooo comfy! The bar was noisy til 12:30 at night, but good fun!
in order to pass into our room whitch was o 4 bed mix dorm me had to pass throu a 8 mix dorm room.the door of our room was inside of another room.in order to have shower you have to pass throu the bar of the hostel.
A towel or info that it wasn't part of the accommodation would've been nice.

This hostel is disgusting! First of all, you check in at the bar, so its not really secure and you don't understand a thing the guy says cause its too loud. Second of all, they gave us the room 22 (AVOID!). We were a group of 4 girls and our room was the "emergency room" so everyone's card could unlock our door! Let me tell you that we were a little surprised when 3 guys walked into the room at 2AM. Finally, you have to go through the bar to take a shower...which is activated by a string.
The bar was pretty interesting, although it had a band playing which meant there was no space to hang out inside. I usually don't mind loud hostels, but you could feel the bass vibrations in our room. Thankfully they stopped before 11pm since we had to wake up early. Also, anyone coming in from the bar could've easily entered the hostel area. Facility-wise, the lockers were really nice, spacious and included chargers; however, the shower arrangement was annoying (other reviews explain it well).
An amazing hostel. Staff is very nice. The hostel has a complete youth atmosphere, with a bar, a colored decoration, and a lot of shortcuts (or not), for instance you have to go through the bar to go to the shower. The breakfast is perfect. The best Youth Hostel. Cheap and so incredible
This hostel was DISGUSTING. first, we had to check in at the BAR of the hostel, which was just the beginning of our awful experience. Our first night there, the bar was extremely loud and the music blared through the floor and into our room. COULD NOT SLEEP! Secondly, to take a shower you had to go down stairs, through the bar, outside, and into another building. The showers were practically medieval, because you had to pull a chain to get the water. there was HAIR EVERYWHERE. Awful experience
Nice hostel with fun bar and good kitchen and cheap bike rental. Staff are nice, especially the bar man with the long hair. The showers are pretty terrible, just about cold and run on a pull cord (kind of like flushing an old toilet) and you need to have it pulled down the whole time. good breakfast and decent beds.
The only good think about this hostel was the kitchen
Excellent hostel, would stay again. Great breakfast included. Showers were not hot, wifi average. Brilliant staff, very helpful and friendly. Supermarkets nearby. Great kitchen.
The best hostel you will find in brugge!!go there!
Showers are disgusting and you have to walk outside to get to them; there is a super loud bar downstairs until 3 am and you feel like you are sleeping on a subwoofer; bunkbeds are so low you cannot even sit: one toilet for about 24 people... should I continue? AVOID! (But centrally located with breakfast). Also don't get there too late because the directions on how to get there from the central place are inexact.
