My friend wet to the bathroom after midnight and when she came back, by mistake she closed the room's door, so she tried to go downstairs to ask for a key and nobody was at reception, she had to stay 45 minutes going upstair/downstair until finally with her toc toc at the door I woke up. also I think the stairs are not safe when you have to descend them with your suitcase and the linen Except for that, the hostel was perfect, the kitchen, the people who came to the pub and the breakfast was

Hostel was handy to town and comfortable enough, and the bar was awesome, cheap, and easy to make friends in. The shower was the worst I've ever had in a hostel but I knew that when I booked from the reviews. I didn't know about the staircase o'death though - don't stay here if you are afraid of heights.

Great Hostel. Very inexpensive rooms and the bar downstairs is great. Very friendly atmosphere and one of the best maps I've ever used is offered. Highly recommend it if you want to try and discover of Bruges' hidden gems. One issue is that to get to the showers you need to walk through the bar.

It is easy to know poople here, first cause of the bar which is nice and also locals come and then cause of the kitchen and terrace place you have to cross on your way to the showers. Staff seems to be easygoing, breakfast is ok. Anyway in the room where is a place for four bunks there are five : )

Snuffle was friendly and charming.Rooms although plain were warm and clean & although had concerns regarding others comments on showers & stairs I must point out that the "treck" to showers is actually only a short space across the yard . The spiral staircase is fine just need to judge best way to carry luggage up but me & 5 friends all managed with no problems with our variety of luggage (suitcase, holdall, trolley bag and rucksack) definately easier with rucksack though lol. AAA+

The staff was great, very helpful and friendly. Pretty decent breakfast considering it's free. Less than a ten minute walk from the main square of Brugge, which is really not so far as it sounds (and lots of good restaurants/bars along said walk). Music in downstairs bar was a little loud since we stayed on the first floor (2nd floor if you're from the US), but the Snuffel Bar closes around 2:00am, so it didn't last all night.

The showers were interesting, when I used it, it wasn't hot, just lukewarm, and having to hold the chain to keep the water going isn't great when the water isn't warm and it is quite cold. Also, privacy would have been an issue if I was in there with others.

Great atmosphere! The free tour is excellent as it enables you ti situate yourself in Brugge and to meet people. Shower location strange, didn't mind that much except that it was NOT HOT!!! Also, if you want to go to bed early and you are on the first floor the music from the bar is SO LOUD!!! But otherwise, excellent!

Stayed for two nights, and overall it was good. Very clean, lockers available with a deposit, free bfast (toast, cereal, tea), and free (though not very reliable) Wi-Fi in the bar. The only complaints I have are that to get to the showers you have to go through the kitchen, out the patio, and up some stairs into another building. Kind of sketchy. Also, the music from the bar is OBSCENELY loud at night. If you want to go to bed before the bar closes at 12, you'll have a hard time of it.

Very nice place, with very nice people! The staff is really great and the "ambiance" is good. True though that the showers are not the best!
