As a solo traveler, snuffel was a great place to stay. Helpful and friendly staff, safe, comfortable, 10-15 min nice walk to town. Bus stop to the train right outside the door. Safe- need a key to get in the stairs and then again for your room. Clean rooms, good location. Breakfast was nothing to write home about and wifi didn't reach my room which was a bummer (but encourages you to hang out downstairs). Definitely recommended.

this is a worst hostel I staid ever. only 1 bathroom for all the people to share, and there are no doors for each shower, only curtains...and it was separated from the dorm, and you need across kitchen to another building in such cold weather. there is a bar downstair and will be very noisy to the midnight. also the walls are very thin, you can easily hear someone use toilet next door... anyway, only stay one night, absolutely a nightmare....

I only stayed at Snuffel for one night, and was able to take part in a free walking tour an hour after I arrived, which was fortunate. However, when I returned from the tour, which was a 9pm, the bar beneath the hostel was full of people and it was incredibly noisy. It was only slightly quieter in the rooms, and I was woken lots in the night by the noise downstairs / outside. However, I did have some lovely roommates in my 4 bed dorm who made my stay enjoyable, despite the bad night's sleep.

Wonderful hostel! The staff were so friendly and having a bar as the main lounge was actually a blessing in disguise. During the day the bar felt just like any hostel lounge and at night you could meet people from all around the world and Bruges right downstairs from the dorms (especially night in the cold March weather). The showers may have been a little bit odd, but I really don´t understand the fuss people make in reviews about them. Do expect to pay, however, for computer use and lockers.

Poor wifi no matter where you are and for some rooms you have to go to a completely different building that involves going though a bar a kitchen and then outside (not good in the winter). The showers also leave much to be desired. Also our room and another separate room inside of it with more beds that could only be accessed by walking through our room so the number of people staying in our room was really double that amount. Other than that the place a great and had free breakfast.

They could really use a colander in the kitchen. But the beds were comfortable enough. I travelled here with a friend, and the bed she was placed in had a sink in front of the ladder so she had great difficulty getting up and down.

At night excelent beer for just 1 euro. The breakfast is excelent and the location also. The bathroom is outside and you have to downstair, cross the bar and the kitchen to arrive.

Some things were great, like the bar and the kitchen, meanwhile some others were bad, like the fact the showers were far from the rooms and the sink was inside the room(?!) anyway a good hostel overall.

Adequate for a hostel....shower room not on the same floor, rooms quite basic....helpful staff though who sorted a rental bike and talked me through cycling options....I really appreciated that!

Great hostel! Staff was really nice and helpful (ask them where to go at night!). There was just one bathroom on my floor, so sometimes you had to wait a little while. Breakfast was good!

Great hostel with helpful staff, but the showers were cold. Great breakfast, comfy beds and clean toilets (at least on the second floor). The only drawback for me were the cold showers, but took them and I am still alive, no hassle :D The location is good too and since the city is small, the main attractions are on walking distance from the hostel. Room 21 has only one electric plug for a 4 beds section. Summarizing: Good for staff, cheap beer, sleep, location and breakfast. Bad for showers.

Great atmosphere in the hostel and in the bar, really cheap beer, friendly and fun staff. Although showers weren't available in some rooms and the cleanliness could be improved, I still enjoyed staying in the hostel. Furthermore it was great value for money as the price included breakfast. I was a single female, travelling on my own and felt safe, met lots of like-minded and friendly people, staff were very friendly and helpful.

Relatively clean, but the shower has no temperature adjustment and is scalding hot. You have to hold the button down the entire time so the whole experience is awkward. Wifi is in the bar only and was decent, but the lockers are located down the hall from the room, as is the shared toilet(even the ensuite rooms). Finally, my biggest annoyance was the owner rushing into the room 15 minutes before checkout telling us all it was time to leave. We had all been to breakfast and were packing, rude!

The staff is so kind! The location is good. This hotel isn't far from the center (10-15 minutes). The problem is that showers are in the other building and there wasn't enough hot water. There is a bar on the first floor. It's very sympa. Having breakfast is free, so cool!

A great location and good value for money- I thought it was clean enough and not too noisy. Plenty of information about the town availale too. However the staff weren't that helpful, the promised 'brugges' card never appeared and you ahd to pay to use the internet!

I understand that it is hard to change the layout of the building, but I did not like how far away the showers were from the rooms. I am fine with not having the shower in my room, but to have to go through the common area and outside is not very ideal.
