Actually located in Chinatown. Great value over New Years. Staff were very accommodating. They booked us a car to the airport which was quick and cheaper than taxi. Also got a free bottle of bubbly for new year's eve. Comfy beds, nice shower, free bottled water, ipod dock a nice touch. Mini bar would have been helpful. Very close to subway and walking distance to Soho, Little Italy and lots of little bakeries. Would definitely stay again.

The SoHotel was an incredibly good experience for me; I wasn't expecting too much and it turned out to be one of the best hotels I have ever been to. I say go for it!

Staff were on the whole awkward and not very welcoming or polite. There is one lovely gentleman who helped us change rooms (our shower had a leaking problem which was very loud) and a lovely lady at front desk who was helpful with directions as well as an elderly porter who was extremely friendly, but the rest of the staff looked unhappy, bored and annoyed. The new room we moved to had a skylight with no cover and no heating, so it was very cold and bright. Our original room had been warm though

We were not quoted the rate of additional tax that we would have to pay on top of our booking. In addition to the occupancy tax made it 17% more expensive. I asked if the price they were charging me upon check in was the price I had been quoted online and they said it was.

The room was much smaller than I expected. Also the tern double to me means two beds, but not for this hotel. Double check each hotels term!

Nice, clean, comfortable, convenient to subway. Loud street, but aren't most in NYC? i would have preferred that the doormen not pat my 6 y.o. daughter's head, especially not without asking me and her first. She laughed, but I don't know how much was just trying to be nice and learning to suck up when people touch her without her permission (NOT something I want my daughter to learn) and how much was true entertainment for her.
